Has Amazon Leaked Wii U Box Art?

New Wii U box art for Ubisoft titles Assassin's Creed III, Marvel's The Avengers: Battle for Earth and Just Dance 4 have surfaced on Amazon.ca.

Although these images may still be placeholders, what do you think of the blue and yellow half-circle splash?

No official comment on the art has been made as of yet from Nintendo or Ubisoft.

This kind of stuff always excites me. I think its really important to have awesome and striking box art and logos, and this isn't BAD imo. It differentiates itself enough from the Wii by being blue which is fair enough, but the Gold stroke just makes it look really childish like Thomas the Tank themed or something

Regardless, this isn't confirmed by Nintendo as of yet so it could still just be placeholder. Its almost idential in shape to the Gamecube boxes too, as someone from the IGN comments pointed out.

Yeah I agree that it needs to be different from a Wii game. This looks pretty cool, but yeah, didn't realize that it is like a GameCube game. Regardless, I like it

Yeah I find this stuff pretty interesting. Especially since its what we are going to be looking at for the rest of our lives when someone mentions the WiiU or we look it up in 50 years on Wikipedia lol

I wonder if the cases will be that blue colour too? Or maybe even the Gold (ew) lol

I really like it. Very subtle, and carries a "U" shaped arc theme to it. I like the gold trim as well.

It's still strange to me that they are actually going with "Wii U" as the actual name. I would have bet money that at e3 they revealed the true name. Lucky I'm not a betting man

Yeah it does, keeps the name but I'd think that 'Nintendo' would be a bigger name than 'Wii' but yeah it's the same reason 'The Dark Knight Rises' uses 'The Dark Knight' name.

Still not sure if I'm getting the console or not but it's interesting, and the box arts are alright. I'm curious to see how ACIII sells on it in particular. Like how many people will swap platforms for a series just because there is a better version on a newer console

Ubisoft confirmed the legitimacy of the boxart.

Personally, I don't like it. I feel they should replace the yellow trim with something else.

Oh did they? And yeah, I can go either way with the gold trim.

Nintendo has also confirmed the legitimacy of the boxart:

“Nintendo has finalized the design of the Wii U game box art, and many of our publishing partners have already incorporated it into their own game packaging. We are seeing those game packages online as retailers are starting to showcase their games. For details about a specific game’s artwork, please contact the game’s publisher. Nintendo-published game boxes will appear shortly with placeholder logos, and then ultimately with the final artwork for each game,” said a Nintendo representative.

Im not sold on it but really doesnt matter im hoping the black console is there day 1 thats my only thing...

Well with the talk from reggie @ e3 this year he talked about a "launch window" with some aspects of features and games for the Wii U doesnt assure me black with be a day 1 thing or a launch window thing..
