PS Vita or 3DS. - What one do prefer and why?

just bought 2 3ds xl's for the bairns for xmas. i have a ps3 that the kids wont use, so can't see the point in buying over priced vitas so they can elect to not play portable ps3 games.

Good call. My kids love the 3ds/DSL over the Vita just for the sake of the amount of games they love. They do LIKE the Vita, no doubt, but the catalog is extremely lacking compared to the 3ds/DSL that they enjoy. I choose them both! lol

I played on a 3DS XL the other day, if I ever get one I'm keeping the 3D off permanently because I felt sick afterwards.

The 3DS is losing 3rd party support like crazy. Capcom and EA seem to be skipping over the 3DS for the Vita. The Vita is getting more support and seeing how it is a more powerful device, I would easily choose the Vita over the 3DS.

The 3DS is losing 3rd party support like crazy. Capcom and EA seem to be skipping over the 3DS for the Vita. The Vita is getting more support and seeing how it is a more powerful device, I would easily choose the Vita over the 3DS.

Vita needs to differentiate it self from the PS3...Needs exclusive content that can only be found on Vita...Its a damn impressive portable console but the 3ds is cheaper and has more content at the moment

Wouldn't matter. Still lacks the games that are releasing. You can settle for Mario games while I settle for all the newer titles.

Mario selling a trillion units would not make up for the lack of 3rd party support. Not to the gamer anyways.

Tell that to the sales numbers bro. I don't settle. I get consoles for what they provide, what I want out of it. That's why I have a PS3. That's why I have a Wii, etc.

Not to the gamers? Dude, look at the sales, hardware and software. They are doing just fine. The Vita WISHES it could get numbers like the 3ds.

Ya, I am only trying to explain why I prefer the Vita over the 3DS. I still like my 3DS, but I will never buy a 3DS version of a game that is out on the Vita. That alone says it all.

I agree with ya when you talk about "you". I can understand it completely because it applies to me in that sense too. I don't think we have a single multiplat game on the DS/3ds.

Rayman Origins
Spyhunter
Lego Batman 2
and others.

Those are some of the multiplat games on both the 3DS and Vita. There is just no reason to choose any of those on the 3DS over the Vita.

as i said above, cant see the point in buying an overly expensive handheld to play PS3 games.

just so many more (and better) games on Nintendo.

Better games are subjective. Vita also has a couple unique gems like Gravity Rush and Dokuro so it's not all about PS3 games. But it seems like new platforms are always slow to gain momentum. At least, for Sony.

Well i have a PS VITA, so right now i have to say the PS VITA but i do like 3DS because i did have the DS XL and that was very good.




and we all no what Silver-Knight going to say the DS because its the only one that have POKEMON witch is crap all games should be on all game consoles but what can i do

Im not just saying this, but ive considered getting a 3DS a few times but the small problem crops up that i just cant ignore.

IT HAS NO GAMES I WANT

There was Resident Evil, but we know whats happening with that. Apart from that it has nothing, nothing what so ever!

Meanwhile on my Vita, i have plenty of games! and only one of them is a Port :-p


Oh and the fact the 3D dont work for me and it has inferior graphics in comparison, id be hurting myself if i actualy went and brought one.
