guys, i want to buy a japanese psp, but I heard that in Japan they will release a new, thinner, built-in camera, and 8GB internal capacity at the end of March 2007.
Is this true? (because if it is, i better wait till then)

yes, i have the source..... It's PSM3 Magazine that is Published in UK. It was I think August edition. I trust PSM3 is a reliable information, but I am still not sure about it.
Unfortunately I don't have it with me right now as I bought that in Indonesia (International book store), and left it there when I went to the UK

As I said, Sony didn't confirm this.

Below what i think of the thing you Posted
Sony has never confirmed this, like everyone else said if they had wouldn't there of been a keynote or something along those lines?.
If they Released what you say wouldn't it of been on major news sites?.
If i was you i would claim this as a Rumor.
I would not expect Sony to manufacture a new Playstation Portable system on the edge of the Playstation 3 being released.
Below is some help and advice and information
Sony have been show casing a New GPS Add on and a PSP camera for awhile they will be released soon.
As for the 8GB integrated memory a alternative would be the 4GB Memory Stick duos that you can buy from www.aria.co.uk
The 8GB memory sticks i am not to sure about but i know they should be out soon if they are not already.
My Advice is to go along and Pick up a PSP but remember
There has always been a difference between the Japanese Playstation Portables and the other ones
The UK Model that i bought of the Playstation Portable used X to select things on the Menu.
My Friend bought a Japanese Model and he has to use O to select things on the Menu.
The Games on the PSP are Region Free but i don't think the UMD Movies are Region Free.
So once i say again go out there and get one nowPSN/Gamertag: darkwrld

thanks for encouraging me to buy one now, as it seems I can't wait till march 2007. don't worry about the psp version. I choose japanese version because I love to use O button as confirm. (Most of my ps2 games are japanese, my ps2 is japanese, and i planned to order japanese ps3). As for umd movie region UK and Japan have the same region code.

as others said, it was in the mag, but it was a rumor, nothing has been confirmed about it, and since the delay of the ps3 in euro launch, i dont see htem launching the redesign at the same time as the euro ps3. I am sure something like that will happen, but due to the ps3 delays it may be pushed back.
Again, nothing is confirmed as far as if the camera will be built in and/or the 8gb internal... its still speculation

I bought a PSP on Tuesday. I went on a bit of a frenzy actually....ooops
I bought a PSP+2GB Mem Stick and then the games -
1. Ridge Racer - snorefest, traded next day
2. Fired UP - crap, traded next day
3. GTA - not as good as I expected, keeping it anyway
4. Everybodys Golf - never even played it, traded
5. Field Commander - really good, keeping it
6. Monster Hunter - awesome+great, keeping it
7. F1 - dodgy, trading it(is F1 '06 a massive improvment over this - if so, I would consider a purchase)
8. Colin McRae - hmmm, almost like a mobile phone game in widescreen. Are there any decent sim like driving titles on PSP?
9. Lumines - ok I guess, will keep it
PSP Video9 - essential for PSP owners.
Web Browser+RSS - as above.
all in all a great tech/machine and I am stil bedazzled re:screen
- but some decent games would be nice....hopefully in 2007 PSP will see devs get to grips with smart ways to utilise the hardware. KZ Liberation proves this

more then enough decent games, but if you think Lumines is just "ok" then i'm not sure of your taste. Locoroco is an awesome game, Tekken, Valkyrie Profile, Lemmings. As far as racing... race driver is probably the best right now until GT comes out hopefully next year sometime

If you're interested in the games for PSP, then waiting for some 8 gig with a camera version isnt really worth it.
Whether its true or not, the current PSP version will play all the games from down the track.
And besides, mobile phones now have Megapixel cameras and hard drives but theyre still bought for their primary function.

Even though it's most likely a baseless rumour, you could try waiting until after the supposed Sony event later this month to see if they announce anything.

Just put an order to Japanese PSP at yesasia.com (as my usual shop, play-asia.com - can't deliver it to the UK due to restriction imposed).
I felt a bit guilty by spending a lot of money though.... but when I thought that I won't be able to get Japanese PS3 till the end of the year (after I was made to believe that buy-ps3.com is kinda strange and fake when I talk about it this afternoon - or morning in the US), I think I spend the money for the right things
Thanks for the encouragement
Long live "O button" (lol)

Ya they said in a PSM mag (good mag by the way) that they are goin to show a redesign of the psp. but it will not be called psp2. they did not say if it will be a upgrade or just another psp but slimer (and as said before with 8gb and a camera). i hope this one does not have another anlog stick because it means its a new psp. i dont know if i should get the current one or wait for this one though. i hope its like the Ipod were u can trade in ur old one.

please now, its not going to have another analog stick or different features that cant be used in your current psp (ie the camera)
buying a psp now wont stop you from playing any future games... please stop worrying about extra sticks, nubs, proccessors, etc
it will be a psp redesign along the lines of the ds lite... again, if this is true

Wow, not sure you'll be happy with anything!
I thought Ridge Racer and Everybodys Golf were/are two of the best games out on PSP. GTA on PSP is exactly that, so if you liked the PS2 version, you should like it on PSP. If not, then...
If you want a good driving sim, Toca Race Driver 2 is meant to be pretty good. It should at least tide you over until GT4 mobile is released!Phat boy gone slim!
