via Joystiq.
Konami has finally issued a long-awaited patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Silent Hill HD Collection. It's intended to resolve frame rate and audio synchronization issues, among other things. The Xbox 360 compilation, meanwhile, won't be patched due to "technical issues and resources."
To recap for those of you following at home: Xbox 360 technical issues cannot be corrected due to technical issues.
Will Konami offer refunds for Xbox 360 owners, or discontinue the sale of the HD Collection for that platform? The publisher has yet to respond to our enquiries, and Amazon shows one copy of the game remains in stock.
Update: Konami tells Joystiq that they will continue to sell the Xbox 360 version of the Silent Hill HD Collection. "Consumers with any questions regarding their purchase" can contact Konami customer support, the publisher told us.
Wow, that sucks. This kind of stuff wouldn't be happening if developers tested their games more thoroughly before releasing them. :/

All that time they spent pushing back the release just for it to still be buggy. Damn sucks for the 360 folks.

"Xbox 360 technical issues cant be corrected due to technical issues." lol Yeah ok. Anyway they shouldnt still be selling the 360 version if its broken and cant be fixed.

Doesn't make any sense: Originally the game was a PS3 Exclusive, then they announce it for 360 (shouldve just done that anyway) and when it releases the 360 version is the superior version, then they patch the PS3 version but not the 360 version.
What a screw up.
Not to mention 4 should be on there anyway, how is this a Collection when it only has 2 of the 6+ games on it?

Has anyone tested this patch on PS3? I've had a lot of hate for this HD release, because it's been so badly developed, but I still want to experience the Silent Hill series.

Dont forget the guys that ported this didnt even have complete code to work with. I pretty much stopped thinking I'd get this when I heard that.

I still have the PS1/PS2 originals, with the original voices that I like and am used to (why the hell are the VOICES the main thing they decided needed upgrading?), so I have no interest in this 'collection'. That does suck for the 360 owners, but on the other hand it's nice to see PS3 owners get the one-up every once in a while. Poor job overall by Konami on the title as a whole, pretty much.
Shut up and play games

Equinoqs, you can keep the original voice acting for SH2, or switch to the new version, it's a setting that pops up right before you start the game. So you can still play SH2. For SH3, I don't remember if they kept the original voices or made new ones. But I didn't really like the original voice acting for SH2. Seemed kinda stale. By the time I finished it, it made sense because a lot of the story in SH2 feels very Lynchian in nature.

The original VO work was sub standard and amateur at best.
So glad I didnt waste my money on this collection the term collection can barely be applied since it only includes 1/2 of the games released before the PS3.[IMG][/IMG]

I 100% agree with the fact SH4 should have been included, but both GOW HD Collection has only 2 titles, yes I know GOW 1&2 was PS2 and the others was PSP, but that didn't stop Peace Walker being included in the console versions of MGS HD Collection
They could have included all 4 games on disc
Thou I'm sure there was a reason, like not planning on porting them to begin with?
But I'm mainly wondering you think GOW Collection is incomplete as you need to buy volume 2 too?
And the new collection is a joke because the PSP Collection is DL code and not on the disc either :-/
