Resistance Series Dead?

Resistance has been my favorite series on the Ps3. It was literally made me buy a ps3 when i played fall of man at my friends house. But with the events over the last couple of months makes me think this series is dead. What do you guys think...

Dead. I loved fall of man. Best one IMO. Two was ok. More about spectacle than plot or gaming. Then I played the beta for the mp on 3. So unimpressed. Everything looked cartoony, animations were awful and they couldn't even get the thing running properly. So unimpressed I skipped playing the third game all together.

For me, the only good Resistance game was the first one. I am not sure why they strayed away from the sexy narrative voice.....Fall of Man is such a great game.

they could easily bring the game back in full force if they just gave it a face lift. imo, "fall of man" (the 1st game) was the best one. they should just revamp the series and start fresh, meaning a new resistance game could be a stealth base game instead of aliens or whatever. very easy to turn the game around.

They did say it was over after the third installment. I played all of them and thought they were great. I was disappointed It ended, but I suppose they could resurrect the series easily enough. I don't think it will happen though.

its dead. Loved the first one my bro and i played the shit outta it back in 06. And the last one was great as well dont care much for the second one at all

Yeah, to be fair it died when Insomniac decided to butcher the second game.

They came back with 3....and great 4th one wouldve gotten it back on track

First one was the best. Second one sucked. 3rd one was much better but still not as good as the first.

I think i read somewhere that they said that part 3 is the last one but i guess they might do more as they are multiplat now

Ive also heard that sony has dropped the franchise

Wasnt it Insomniac that dropped it? Sony owns the IP and could always farm it out like they did for the Vita but the question is will they bother?

I never liked the series. I only played the first but didn't finish it. I was expecting a lot coming from Insomniac but the game was not appealing to me.

They should just give me the rights to the IP and I'll make them a proper Resistance game.

Glad I never got into it...basically it made a decent launch title, the 2nd one was rubbish and I'm surprised they didn't predict the reception the 3rd one would get.

2nd one wasn't rubbish it was good, the whole series is pretty good

I don't have a problem with this. I enjoyed all of the Resistance games but honestly, everything needs to be out to bed at some stage. I like the universe and the gameplay but I don't want it to drag out for too long. The (main) story has been told and it doesn't need another entry

The third IIRC wasn't necessarily a "hit" at the time nor did it really sell as well the first few weeks as Insomniac probably hoped.

At that point they would be putting a lot of money and resources into something that hasn't garnered much interest since the first title.

But yeah, its over and Insomniac has moved on to develop games for multiple platforms.

It doesn't help that Resistance: Burning Skies bombed. I'm not sure how much it sold but, for the most part, reviewers weren't very kind.

Just enjoy their old games and remember the good times.

Oh and i loved Resistance 2.
Its co-op was most likely the best multiplayer experience of this generation for me.
