This new trailer, designed to show off the hugely impressive graphics that CryEngine 3 is capable of, hints at the sort of visuals we can expect from next generation consoles like the PlayStation 4.
It’s quite amazing, the lighting especially good and the ending, with the helicopter, is stunning. All this is real time, apparently, and taken from Crysis 3.
If the PS4 can get anywhere near this, we’ll be more than happy.

It's a good start, but expect things to get better when software matures.

We have an entire thread dedicated to CryEngine 3 in the PC section, if you guys are interested. Not saying that anything will happen to this thread but it's worth checking out some of the other videos.

Realistic frogs. Now I'm impressed.
But if next gen gaming will have those features as the norm then bring on the next hardware already!. I can't imagine what games will look like five years down the line.

Looks good but in no way related to what PS4 might be capable of.

So who's hinting that this is what the PS4 is capable of. I mean of course thos guys would have alpha kits not but no one credible has said anything concrete.

Nope. I refuse to believe anything will show off the PS4s potential until Sony remakes the Killzone 2 trailer with it.

We're much more likely to see the equivalent of a Radeon 6870 at best, but much more likely a 5770, if they plan to keep the price within reason. Because you know that next gen Cell is going to be outrageously expensive.

To be fair, its a tech demo from a current gen game showing what can be done with the engine on really highend PC and obviously Nextgen consoles
Obviously nextgen visuals will be way better then that, but more simplified if ya get me, more practical, devs aren't gonna bother with a frog

The RSX was a piece of crap even at launch, using old pipeline technology and low end cheap memory interface.
I think Sony has learned from PS3 hardware though and will place more emphasis on the GPU this time and use a more cost effective cpu.
I would expect next gen to do this sort of graphics at the least.
