If you ever get a chance, play Killzone Liberation. Besides some slight control issues, that game is really good.

To be honest the only big FPS i've played this gen that has a decent story is bioshock, that game oozed with atmosphere and character.

I agree, but I think a contributing factor is that the game also didn't have a multiplayer component, hence the tighter focus on the narrative.

I'll join the crowd. I love Killzone Liberation, kz2 and kz3. Looking forward to the next installment.

That is definitely true. Very rarely a game has both great singleplayer and multiplayer.
When Multiplayer was introduced in Bio2, the singleplayer just wasn't as amazing as in the Original Bioshock.

KZ2 was good, i mean the story wasn't GOTY or anything but it was decent and that last boss battle was just epic.
KZ3 totally blew it with that WTF ending and the lack of a decent boss battle. Hopefully KZ4 will have a decent story and good voicework, KZ3 had bad audio sync.

I assume you saying people play it for the multiplayer, not something I'd say those titles was known for, but multiplayer & amazing set pieces, eye candy and intense action don't usually go hand in hand, sounds like you want a better SP....thou I only played both titles SP modes, hardly played the multiplayer.

There was nothing trivial said, both Crysis 2 and KZ3 had amazing set pieces, eye candy and intense action which is their best points.

My point was the stories were pap in both and having the crysis writer come in probably won't make any difference, as long as they continue to up the stakes in terms of action and eye candy in a fun package that's all I want.

I think you can have both a good single player and multiplayer though, some will disagree but the Halo series to me has a very good mix, Halo reach was fantastic if i'm allowed to say in both single player, coop and multi.

I really just didn't like the ending. It felt a bit TOO ridiculous and strained my suspension of disbelief to be honest.

Also I was hoping we'd get to see a more human side of the helghast ( you know like civilians cowering in bomb shelters being suppressed by their shitty government), but instead we just got to see a bunch of old guys who were either really ignorant or crazy.

Over all it was great for a shooter, but I was expecting more (not sure why) in the story and character department... The action and visuals were top-notch though.

Which is why I hate MP.

They should just add the MP component months after so the SP doesn't suffer.


On topic: I hope they kill off Rico. Still really hate the stupid moment in KZ2.

I didn't mind the story at all. Enjoyed the 2 and 3 games. They are both pretty solid for me.

I will get Killzone 4 on day one. I enjoyed the previous ones. Not a huge fan of the multiplayer, but the campaign was fun as fuck.

I'm hoping it's a new IP but at the same time, Crysis 2 had solid visuals and was fun for a while but it's story was nothing I'd write home about.

Maybe they could use the Crysis 2 engine to improve the game visuals?

I would rather they NOT use the writer from Crysis 2. That game was boring as all fuck. Keep it the way it is now, in familiar territory. No need to fix what aint broke.

I think I'm done with the Killzone series until they return to their roots being KZ(which is my fav killzone despite the few bugs I ran across). If I do buy it, sony certainly won't be getting my money for it. I'd rather give it to gamestop on a used copy.
