Definitely enjoyed KZ3. Platinum'd it and thought it was a great game - preferred it to number 2, which was also great. Wasn't a big fan of the story in Crysis 2 so we'll see how this turns out if it's true

Nope I'm looking forward to it too. I love the Killzone series. In fact I'm in the middle of replaying the Killzone 3 campaign.

I'm looking forward to it as well but for me, I preferred KZ2 to 3. I loved the weighty feel and the multiplayer. KZ3's multiplayer wasnt fun for me like KZ2

Personally I thought KZ3 MP was better. As for a story, as long as the campaign is written without a ridiculous WTF ending, I'm cool with it. I liked the board room chats with the Helghast leaders in 3. Still need to beat KZ3 on elite.

They jumped the shark in KZ3 man. "CRAZY SUPER WEAPON THAT HAS BAD EFFECTS WITH HELGHAST ATMOSPHERE AND ANNIHILATES ALL LIFE ON THE PLANET."

It's like using a thermonuclear bomb in a batman movie. Or having The Fonz jump a shark. Or surviving a nuke by hiding in a fridge.

In a FPS I'm not overly concerned with academy award winning stories. I just want it to be fun. And the Killzone series is.

I'm probably alone in saying this, but I think Killzone 4 should be the last title. I do agree with radgamer420 that the games are fun to play but I feel like if they drag it out too much that it'll end up like the Resistance IP. I actually thought Killzone 3 would be the last game, until they added the last-minute surprise twist.

i dont really see this being a good thing, the crysis story isnt anything to shout about. As for the killzone story, it would have pretty awesome to have the helgast get to earth, and for the last stand to be there, no idea whey are going to take it with how killzone 3 ended haha.

God, Crysis 2 was so boring. I don't see how this is exciting news.

Killzone 2 was a lot of fun. The heavier controls and atmosphere made it different enough from other shooters that it was refreshing.

Killzone 3 wasn't bad either. I wasn't particularly fond of the pacing though. It seemed disjointed.

Ya I'm with this. I don't see why a FPS needs to have a super great story, but props if there really trying to make it seem worthwhile tho.

I still haven't played KZ3 yet. I may get around to it later...

I'm not looking forward to it, but I'll play it and more likely than not enjoy it.. but I heard Crysis 2 was pretty meh, story wise at least. So I'm skeptical.... Not that Killzone ever had an amazing lore to begin with I suppose

I'm hoping it's a new IP but at the same time, Crysis 2 had solid visuals and was fun for a while but it's story was nothing I'd write home about.

Now don't get me wrong, I agree FPS and TPS games do not need the writers guild award but why go from mediocre story to mediocre story when your own studio could have done that already?

That may not read as intended...

Microsoft is in a strategic partnership with Kleenex which could result in next gen seeing a significant boost for the tissue manufacturer.

If true, i'm glad they're trying to improve. Crysis 2 story wasn't anything fascinating, but it paced really well and the ending was better than KZ3.

Being a shooter isn't an excuse to have a shoddy story. Not every game is going to have an award-winning narrative, but it's commendable to try to improve that aspect of the game.
