Sony IPs: What should be continued, discontinued, and revisited?

I saw a similar topic on a different forum and thought it would make for an interesting discussion. As the title says, what IPs from Sony should be continued, discontinued, and revisited? I'll get the ball rolling with my own list:

Continued:

Gran Turismo
MotorStorm
Ratchet & Clank
Siren
SOCOM
Souls (Demon's Souls, Dark Souls etc.)
Twisted Metal

Discontinued:

God of War (or rather Kratos' character)
Killzone (fun to play but storywise, what else can they do?)
Uncharted (as usual, let Naughty Dog create new IPs)

Revisited:

Dark Cloud
Jet Moto
Syphon Filter
The Legend of Dragoon

I haven't mentioned LittleBigPlanet and Resistance because, from what I've read, the developers weren't planning on making any sequels.

Continued:
Gran Turismo(I can't see this franchise die)
MotorStorm(Has potential still)
Souls
Ico(It has a lot of potential)
Ape Escape(Monkeys are awesome)

Discontinued:
God of War (No more prequels or sequels please!)
Killzone (They missed a great opportunity with 3 - which was a mess so I can't see the franchise go far)
Uncharted (Work on a new IP or greatly innovate an Uncharted 4)
SOCOM(Last two SOCOM games weren't that great, time for a new IP to take it's place)
Twisted Metal(Old franchise, time for something new)
Ratchet & Clank(Had a blast with the franchise but it's time to give it some rest)
inFAMOUS(Infamous 2 had two great endings. No need to continue with the franchise unless they innovate greatly).
LittleBigPlanet(Love the games but they need something new)
Sly Cooper(Had a good run, make room for new IP)

Revisited:

Just to clarify, this thread is about Sony IPs, which would be games developed exclusively for the PlayStation platform.

MotorStorm (it has been going downhill after the first one, and I can't see where they could go from MS: RC)

While I did pick up the PS3 for MotorStorm, I thought Pacific Rift was a worthy sequel. I didn't like the direction Evolution Studios took with Apocalypse and RC. Maybe they can bounce back with another full-fledged title.

The first two games were ported to PlayStation consoles. Grandia III was a PS2 exclusive though, following Sega's withdrawal from the hardware market. If Game Arts does make another installment (excluding Grandia Online) then I think it's safe to say that it'll be a PlayStation exclusive.

I'm a huge Motorstorm fan so I have to disagree. And MS:RC isnt really a proper Motorstorm game imo.

Personally...I'm not sure I would ever kill any franchise. Perhaps if they want to sell off a couple IPs...like Twisted Metal, Sly, Resistance, a few others that is fine but sure they need to give games like GOW and Motorstorm and some others a break. I think Uncharted as well even though I would play another today. Let PS4 establish a year or so and then bring those games back. I don't believe in totally killing off but some need a break more than others....I say this..but yet I would play them tomorrow. Games like Socom and LBP probably need something fresh but you can't take away the faces of the franchises forever because you risk losing fan base. I agree PS4 should launch with almost all knew IPs and perhaps like Uncharted or GT come out in a year after. We all know games like COD, Battlefield, RE, Mass Effect, Oblivion, GTA and so on will come at launch or soon after from 3rd parties so let those be your base...and then bring in new fans with new franchises to interest them....plus new IPs are easier to do at launch because there is less risk.

Well, they had to downscale because apparently Apocalypse did not sell very well, and its online has even worse net code than Pacific Rift. I assume that is why RC has no online. If its not there, it can't be broken, right?

If the matchmaking in Pacific Rift wasn't getting close to a train wreck, and if all the vehicles had about twice as much traction, then I would not even be talking about it in this thread.

I still don't see where the series can go from here. It has pretty much covered every type of environment, unless they try other planets

I probably wouldn't ahve them Discontinue or kill off any IPs. It'd prefereble if they were put on 'hiatus' soo to speak, rather than just get rid of them.

Yeah well thats like saying the GT series should go because its always the same track environments. If a racing game is fun its fun. Besides theres ways to make the environments look different. But I do agree about the crap net code and of course it also did poorly in sales. But the racing was alot of fun for me.

Definately MAG 2 and Socom both franchises are great. Socom needs to be tweeked alittle but the graphics were stellar on Socom 4. Socom 4 only issue was the extra bombs and hand grenade were totally not needed otherwise fantastic game. Resistance franchise should also be continued or reboot like Socom.I dont think any title should be shut down. Starhawk is one example a great game but is not selling right now. This game had no advertising but it does not mean this game is bad by any means. If anything Starhawk is unique and has a stellar online multiplayer alot of fun.
