Summer, it's almost over...

... and I still can't get my PS1 games purchased from PSN on my Vita.

Announced nearly 2 months ago now it was coming this summer. Anyone else thinking that Sony have kind of dropped the ball here? I mean, it doesn't show 3rd Party developers much to get excited about if Sony can't update the Vita with a vital piece of firmware in a timely fashion.

I think they meant summer 2013. lol. I hate this... one of the main reasons that I got a Vita was to play PS1 games on it. Sony definitely dropped the ball.

I've considered selling off my vita a few times now.
I'd probably had done it had it not been for dlc stuff which I dont want to lose.

Anyway, it's heavily rumoured the PS1 support patch is being announced/released at Gamescom. Sony's press conference is tomorrow so let's wait and see.

Summer doesnt end until sometime in september. remember, summer in business terms means the season, not the school year. That being said, everything that has been stated about said patch that ive read, was leaning towards a late august/early september firmware update.

That being said, i have some gripes about people complaining about not being able to play their PSOne games on their Vita. guess what, your VITA is not a PSOne, and its not like Sony took the capability away from you to play PSOne games on your vita like they took away backwards compatability on the PS3, you just never had the option in the first place. Youll get the option when theyre good and ready to give it to you, and im kinda glad theyre dangling it in front of everyone who wants it so badly and just not giving it to them because i find it hillarious that people are upset that they cant play really old games on a console thats meant to play brand new games, because lets face it, youre all lucky theyre even making it an option. They damn well could have made it so you had to re-purchase your psone games for the vita but they didnt. They damn well could have made the PSone compatability patch a 20 dollar software package, but theyre not. So like the sticker on my dashboard says, "Sit down, Hold on, and SHUT UP"

That being said, its not my fault if you took that personally. Thats just my opinion.

We still have plenty of Summer left. I think 1.80 firmware will be out within the next 2 weeks. The reason we do not have PS1 games yet could simply be because Sony is creating bubble icons for each PS1 game lol.
