Rockstar Games has multiple teams with hundreds of staff members working on multiple projects

Team Ico has a handfull of workers(27) that can only work on one game at a time. The project must of been too big for Sony to send in a group from Santa Monica to lend them a hand.

Jesus, are you serious? That makes Shadow and Ico even more impressive to me than they already are. When you look at some of those development team photos for other games it looks like they're made up of a fucking army.

Unless I'm mistaken, Sucker Punch has a relatively small team of developers as well. Infamous is my favorite series from this generation (and is tied with Jak from last gen), and Shadow remains one of my all time favorite single player experiences.

Those small teams, man. Gotta love'em or their crazy visions and the shitload of work they put into making them realities. I usually wait games out before deciding whether or not to purchase them, but I'll be buying Guardian the day it hits shelves (if ever).

I think people are getting off track. Fact is they are having difficulties with the production. Just a fact (they said so). Rockstar or any other dev has nothing to do with this game. Like FonFahbre said they have a TINY team working on a game with huge scope and expectations. They've released the trailer for this game and it looked AMAZING...but now they have to live up to it. Like Killzone 3 that is hard to do and not always achievable. I think this company perhaps bit off more than they can chew and of course now we have seen other developers try to help them out. Not saying they aren't incredibly talented/capable but its a small team...with limited resources...and a big project.

I'm sure we will see it for PS3 sometime. I hope they don't wait til the PS4 comes out because it would likely get overshadowed with the attention being on those games. ICO/SHADOW where cult classics...I will buy this when it comes out because I trust their game making ability and unique game experiences. Just hope they get it out.

Well this is reassuring but doesn't it feel late to release the game this far into the PS3's lifecycle?. I'm not exactly sure how long it will be until the PS4 is released but this can easily become a PS4 title. Let's cross our fingers for a full game reveal on Tokyo Game Show and a possible launch window.

Why do people talk about the ps4 like it's coming out in the next couple of years? If you think we will see it before 2014 you are kidding yourself.
