I will make a simple and short suggestion.
We all know the site Kotaku and how untrustworthy they are. I propose that we do not accept Kotaku as a source for any news in the future. I think I don't have to explain why.

The reputation of these fuckwits is in tatters and they are getting a lot of hate web wide in the gaming community for their blatant hit whoring misinformation articles, most recently the vs13 lie and now the PSN hack. I put this POS site in the same category as VGCz.

I don't think you really have to ban sources. Like you said, they are notorious for their untrustworthyness. Just let it be, and don't pay attention if you see a story. Its much easier for the individual to just not look/not believe in the links rather than enforce a rule for all members.

Yeah, we won't ban them as a source. Nor have we ever banned a site as a source.
VGChartz is not banned as a source, but it is important to note they are NOT an official source, meaning since their numbers are admitted estimations, it isn't a reliable source to quote. While they may not be accurate to a great degree, typically their numbers are close enough to merit a look, you just can't take them at face value. Since most places don't openly report actual consumer purchases of product, they have to go off units shipped. Even then, most folks like MS and Sony just simply don't drop a list to them, they have to go and dig to get numbers. Barring actual numbers being released, they do what all of you do and that is estimate, or in some instances GUESS at what units were sold. As long as they come close, they figure the big picture is being shown.
This site has never taken an official stance on sites like VG. It is the members that do. Typically, when VG #'s sway in the PS3's favor, then you will see lots of posts using their figures. Not in their favor? We get a report box filled with people clamoring to have the post wiped out because VG is banned (which it isn't). That is not a fanboy statement at all guys... that is how the path goes when VGChartz is concerned as staff sees it.
So, the old mantra "don't like it? Don't read it..." applies here. If you don't like the Kotaku site as a news/information source, then stop reading when you see what the source is. Simple. We can't stop ALL of our readers from seeing it because you can't make yourself not read it, or don't agree with the site. Hell if we did that, IGN, lens of truth, Digital foundry, gametrailers, gaf, sony forums, teamxbox world, etc... would all have to be banned because I can guarantee there are members out there who do not like those sites.

Basically what cuguy said if u see anything posted from that site take it with a grain of salt seems to be most of the community already knows they are full of it with some of their stuff anyways.
You can always trust PSU sources! Lol
