    The OFFICIAL Animal Crossing Thread

Does anyone else here love Animal Crossing? I sure do. Something about hanging out in a town filling with all types of animals makes me feel relaxed... Hanging at the coffee shop...fishing in the stream...talking to an angry mole because you didn't save... I especially like the DS version - Wild World.

I love Animal Crossing and the 3DS version is one of my most anticipated games coming out in the near future.

I played the hell out of Wild World. My GF also loves it.

I would be exited for the 3DS version, but I do not have a 3DS...

I heard a while back that Animal Crossing can be addicting.

I've never played the games though. What are they like, exactly?

Well basically, you move into a town full of animals and you have no money. The shopkeeper gives you a house with a mortgage to pay off. You basically are trying to earn enough money by fishing, bug catching, fossil digging, and general selling of items (there are multiple mortgages to pay off). As you pay off your mortgages, your house gets bigger, and you can decorate it how you please with items that you purchase at the store. I think the atmosphere of the town is what is most addicting for me...

The only one I have played so far is the Gamecube version. I enjoyed it a lot more than expected and the only reason I haven't played another one is because I didn't own a Wii or DS. I will likely get the 3DS version. Fantasy Life also looks good if it is released in the US.

If I end up deciding on buying a WiiU I will probably get the eventual WiiU version. The only problem is that I don't know anyone else that enjoys these type of games and I am the only one among all of my friends that have been even remotely interested in the WiiU. As a result I have been leaning towards a Surface Tablet(if not too expensive) or iPad Mini(if real).

Cool. Yeah, I'm probably not going to get the WiiU, but I hope to get a 3DS at some point in time.

You know you are an Animal Crossing geek when you watch the trailer, and are exited that it looks like you can put items on walls and go swimming...

    You're welcome.

You have a really nice looking town, by the way. I still need to complete expanding my own house and add more furniture.

Bought the AC New Leaf Bundle. Addicted to it right now. Haven't played an AC game since the Gamecube.

thanks I took some inspiration from some of the towns I visited using the Dream Suite that you can build, it's a shame you can't take anything back with you from the towns you visit but it's good for ideas anyway!

The furniture seems harder to come by in New Leaf compared to what it was like in Wild World, unless I just remember it differently.

New Leaf is so good, I loved Wild World and this is even better, had it for a while now and things are going pretty good! That being said I'm still finding out little things that I didn't know before like collecting gold ores to make golden furniture, grass wears away if you run over the same routes all the time, all the different coloured flowers you can grow including golden roses when you have the golden watering can.

Also for anyone who wants the fortune cookies for the special Nintendo items, you can fold your 3ds down and put it into standby mode, then just shake it to emulate footsteps which you gain 1 play coin for every 100 steps. You can gain 10 coins everyday and this allows you to buy the fortune cookies. You get some awesome stuff, I almost have Links full outfit, and I already have Samus' outfit and some sweet mario stuff!

I don't have a problem gaining play coins with how much walking I do, but yeah, I'm trying to get Samus' full outfit. So far, I have the Varia suit shoes. I fully paid off the loan on my house for like the third time so I can save up for more items too.

haha yeh the cats on there are great, my favourite neighbour is Merry and she is a cat as well. I really want a squirrel or a mouse to move to my town.

Had quite a good haul from the island today, made 600,000 bells with two trips

I had a look at the list of badges you can get in the game and some look like they'll take forever which isn't a bad thing really!
