Square Enix announces U.S. Final Fantasy 25th anniversary event
"New details about the direction of Lightning's story" to be shared.

Square Enix’s U.S. division will hold an “Experience Final Fantasy” series 25th anniversary event on Friday, August 31 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the ACT Theatre in Seattle, Washington during PAX Prime.

During the event, fans will have the opportunity to participate in a series of “commemmorative activities and games” based on the 1987-launched franchise. Prizes include a custom-branded Final Fantasy XIII-2 PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 console, character plushies, and a special 25th anniversary poster featuring artwork from Yoshitaka Amano.

At 7:30 p.m., Square Enix will share “new details about the direction of Lightning’s story” via a special video message from Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase, director Motomu Toriyama, and art director Isamu Kamikokuryo. This part of the event will occur at the exact same time as the previously announced “New Developments Presentation” in Shibuya, Tokyo.

A Final Fantasy XIII-3 reveal is widely expected.

Yeah, but 7 did a lot more for people. You can ask most people which final fantasy was there favorite or first and they will tell you ff7 most likely from my experience. Just to go a step further he is, cloud, is the most requested character in pasbr.

Well, fair enough. They needed not money wise but brand wise. They needed something to get there name out there instead. Final fantasy 7 got them notice for sure.

Final Fantasy I was there most important title because at the time they were going bankrupt so they put all there money into one final title hence the name final fantasy

I didn't know that actually.

I got into the franchise with FF8 .


Well, this is going to be a Final Fantasy Anniversary. I just want Square to drop it all on our minds with XIII-3, Versus and KH3.

FF8 was like my 3rd favorite. I want square to show us, kh3, versus( since they was bragging about it), and the highly unlikely FF7. A new ip would be great because i'm already grown tired for the ff13 stuff.

FFX is like hands down one of the greatest gamess ever. It hits my t0p ten easily. Square back in ps2 days was making spectacular games. Speaking of ffx, i wonder where it's at? I thought it was slated for 2012 summer time release? I hope we get the international version because i never got to play it. I was going to import it but didn't wanna do no changes to my ps2.

They better show some FFX HD at this event. The only reason they could be taking this long is if they're actually re-doing the graphics, as the rumors suggested.
