Kojima : Making a Silent Hill with the new FOX engine would be “enviously attractive"

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has admitted on Twitter that making a Silent Hill game with the new FOX engine would be “enviously attractive”. OK, so perhaps something there has gotten a little lost in translation, but we understand the sentiment.

Kojima didn’t stop there, though. On his official English language Twitter feed, he said, with all the eloquence Google Translate can muster: “Silent Hill is in closed room setting and doesn’t require full action so that we can focus on the graphic quality. Enemy doesn’t have to be a lot or move fast. It only requires scariness by graphics and presentation. As being a creator making action game in open world, such game is very enviously attractive. Wish someone could create this on FOX engine.” To which a passer-by replied “about half past five” and pointed him towards a bakery.

If Kojima developed the next SH, my head would explode from anticipation. Maybe Konami should grow a brain and stop sending their IPs to small, obscure developers with one or two titles in their catalog.

But maybe its too late. How many times can we revisit the town before it gets old?

This. To be honest, I'm more interested in another Siren title.

The town has only been the same twice, I wouldn't mind revisiting the original town & SH2's togather in one game

It is the sound that makes Silent Hill. Seriously.
You could have the goriest looking graphics but if the wrong music is playing it wouldnt shock or scare you.

Yes I have played it but not recently.

I thought Too many people are putting faith into the engine to deliver a good silent hill game but the visuals are only half of a silent hill game.

When I played Metal Gear Solid on the PS1 I thought most the music was fantastic and set the mood perfectly.

Kojima: A game using MY companies engine would be awesome (for me).

News: Man wanting to sell own companies product is news. Print!

Totally agree. Akira Yamaoka is one of my favorite composers.
