West Nile outbreaks have been around for a LONG time, it's strange there's no vaccine for it yet.

How is it strange? There are tons of viruses that don't have vaccines...like, oh, I don't know...the common cold?

The common cold is just uncomfortable, west nile has a higher chance to kill you and so can swine flu.

West Nile has a cure...it's just not 100%. Only old people with lowered immune systems die from it, pretty much.

Yeah, it's just a case of not reading between the lines. When the article says, "There is no vaccine or cure for West Nile Virus" it doesn't necessarily mean they haven't been trying to find one. Although news articles tend to spin things in such a way that it seems more dangerous than it really is.
