Eh, because Microsoft forces you to pay for their service to play online. They can suck it. PSN is better.

I've never understood this debate. Anyone can see that XBL is the better service, tongue in cheek or not.

Live has always been better, and knowing MS it probably always will be. PSN will always be playing catch up in that area.

It's funny how they always assume that you haven't used Live, they always do.
It's really not. Sony needs improve the usability of the PS store. I only go there because of content -- and that's the important part. But making it easier to use and navigate will get more people to that content easily which should mean more sales.

PSN is fine, but it is just that. Fine.
I'll take the simple benefits of XBL over PSN any day of the week. X-Game chat and piss easy invite system with friends.I Like Games.

It wasn't even close to humorous. I felt like the writer was trying too hard.

Used it, for 2 years.
Nothing at all, seriously, made me even think it was better than the PSN.
I just like and prefer the simplicity and easy to use playstation XMB and connection wise they are both very similar. I dont use cross chat so that is pointless to me and all the "services" it provides are either available on the ps3 or the PC.
Only reason why it's so popular is because you have to have gold in order to play on-line. I would bet £20 that if the online play was free ( only needed silver account) that at least 70% of people who have gold would not keep it. MS are one of my most disliked companies. They give me that image of a money greedy business that would leave/forget their user-base in order to cater to other people ( in other words telling their previous users to either accept the new changes or **** off)
Look at windows 8, look at the new XB interface ( kinect focused), look at how the hardcore games are literally just sequels of previous games, no intention of making anything new...
I wouldn't be surprised if the next xbox was mainly targeted to casual family gamers.

Xbox Live is definitely better. However i don't think there has been a console that has been defined by an operating system before like the 360. Usually people talk about the games when it comes to a console. The 360? You've got Halo, Gears, Fable, Forza yearly releases and some games sprinkled in like Alan Wake here and there.
So i guess people feel the need to keep touting how superior XBL is. When at the end of the day PSN still gets the job done and for free. That's really all the 360 has over the PS3. An online service that is easier to navigate with a few more features.

Still should be free, you can never ignore the fact that you're paying to play online when others aren't
