Got a ps3 for free from a friend with the assumption with ylod, however I plugged it it and the light went green and then just shut off 10 seconds later, so I then took it apart to check what was up and found it had no Blueray drive, if I replaced the blueray would it work or does it sound like there is still a ylod issue ? Any hel would be appreciated

Its currently working at the moment? This was after u replaced the blu ray drive??

The PS3 will not work without the Blu-Ray drive. If you replace the drive, you will still need to flash (marry) the Blu-Ray drive with the PS3. They both need be flashed together for them to communicate.
