Ok this is for the OAP's. Ones that have been here for over 7 to 1 year. Just wondering has the forum. Changed you or are you the same when you signed up. Do you see the world differently or do you see it the same. Have you learned a lot on the forum, like the way people are and there way of replying to a thread or comment. Do you feel that you have made friends and a few enemies while here.
Me personally, i have changed a bit. My outlook on the world has changed, i have made friends and maybe one or two enemies. I see members in a different light and have learned to respect and have patients when it comes to either threads, comments or changes within the forum
How about you

Changed or not, I certainly have learned a lot in my time here. Have met some very well-read and sensible people here and have been lucky enough to witness amazing debates regarding a diverse array of topics ranging from video games to politics to social issues. It has a wonderful experience for me so far, interacting and being good friends with people I've never met in my life.
You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!

I don't spam, get into fights, take things too seriously or make any long-winded posts. Then again, I've been here for six and a half years. I'm used to change and seeing people come and go.

I was a bit timid when I first joined. But as some months passed by I opened up a bit more and made some really great friends. It's been great here. That's my only change I could think of.

I've been here 4 years I think and I can safely say this forum hasn't changed me. I used to post alot in the PS3 Games section, and quite a bit in the Off-Topic section. My interest in discussing games has greatly reduced and I don't really care about news or all those stories getting posted in OT so I usually stay out of there too.
Occasionally I'll post in a COD thread, and the rest of my time I've spend in the Pro-Wrestling thread. I met some pretty cool guys there some of who I have on PSN now. That thread and some of the people in there is actually the only reason I still post here I guess..

Over the years, the place has changed the way you can interact with others on the forums. It hasn't necessarily changed ME.

Well I've spent countless of hours here instead of doing useful stuff in real life so I guess it has affected my life

Naw kidding. Tis' an amazing forum and I'm glad I've been a part of it for so many years already!

The only thing this forum has changed is my opinions of the members that fill it. I have come to respect some members, and some members not so much.

I've used this place as a sort of crutch over the years. I usually post more when things are tough in real life or if I'm just bored with nothing to do. My post count drops pretty drastically when things are hunky dory and I'm always out and about..especially during term time.
I probably post more atm because of the summer holidays and the fact that I'm bored out of my mind.
When it comes to friends on the forum, that's a weird one because its not like you are ever going to meet them IRL..though I suppose I consider people friends to some degree. Especially the BnW guys, and I have a couple of the old members that left on my Facebook friends list like Carl who I talk to every so often.Trophy-licious!

No, the forum has not changed me as a person in real life. However, I've learned some things from PSU forum and site.
Do I post differently than I did a year ago? Yes. A year ago, I took my time and gaged the forum. When I saw that it seemed to be a place that fit me, then I became comfortable and started posting and talking to people.
Overall, this forum is better than most super active forums. The staff, even though they seem to favor some members a bit, are not corrupt and is not a thing that only the most popular members achieve. I just wish the staff would actually be more strict on rule breakers and harassment, even if the harassment is within the rules.
I also wish staff would fix the buttons in Internet Explorer.Awww! Little baby bunny! <3

LOL I don't know any other way to put it, and I'm not gonna sugar coat it. You realize after being here for a few years, you're gonna make some friends and enemies, and that's with every forum. My list is extremely small. I avoid talking to them as best as I can, so when the time comes, I'll get a good idea of how to reply back. It's the Internet, I know. So if they can be trolls, then I can stoop down to their level too, given the anonymity that comes with a forum.

I have made a couple of friends here. That is normal for four years though.

I've had my differences and misunderstandings with most members during my time here but I never considered them my enemies. It's best to be neutral with those who aren't too keen with your opinions then to dislike them, you can even befriend them if you try!.
Has this forum changed me in real life?: No. I just changed the way I interact with members here but for the better. I love discussions but I hate creating bad tensions so I'll do my best to resolve any misunderstandings we might have.Last edited by Fon; 08-23-2012 at 00:43. Reason: typo

Yes it has. Most definitely.
Its thanks to some opinions of members that I bought certain games - and loved them.
Posts in the Metal Thread and What Are You Currently Listening To Thread have influenced some of the music I listen to
Random crap in the off-topic has educated me about many (mostly pointless haha) subjects
And I even learned how to mod a forum ><
