I expected new character reveals unfortunately, I got myself hyped for nothing. But it isn't necessarily SuperBot's fault if they weren't able to strike a deal with IP holders.

I'm pretty confident we will see character DLC however.

I don't understand the "Kratos is overpowered" schtick...

I've never had trouble beating him...hell, I've had more trouble with Sly/FatPrincess users than Kratos...

On a side note, I know this is a beta, but it gets frustrating going into match after match where after you score your first kill, the player spawns back with invincibility for the duration of the match...my connection is pretty speedy, and unless you just jump around for the rest of the match, you wind up losing...

Parappa's the real beast. Kratos and Radec are seen as overpowered because people have no idea how to block/evade. Super easy combos that build 135 AP? You gotta believe.

Oh, definitely. I just think he's an easy player to pick up and play with. Once you figure out blocking and evading he can be combatted fairly well

Tried the Beta, started with Fat Princess, won my first match, next match I was 4th, last match I came in 2nd vs. three Kratoses (Kratos's? Krati?). Not really my kinda game in general, but it was pretty fun. I obviously need a HDTV, because it was hard to see anything in standard-def.

The tutorial was helpful, though being able to play through it with the character you plan to play with would have been much more helpful. The action was nice & fast without the camera causing me to lose myself in the fray. I never did figure out much in the way of combos, but the few I accidentally triggered were cool and effective. I really like the height you can get in the air, gives a newb like me plenty of time to set up an aerial attack. The voices sounded strangely uncharacteristic sometimes, even if it was the original voice actor (i.e. Fat Princess, who didn't sound much like original V.A. Tara Strong doing Fat Princess) - small quibble, but odd. The background interactions (Hades, patapons) were attractive but pretty much destroyed any momentum I may have built up during the match.

I'll play the beta some more during my 7 days left, because the game has me significantly more interested now. Still wish there were more iconic/historic characters, though...Radec? For that matter, Fat Princess? Two separate Coles? Ah well, maybe in some not-overpriced DLC...

I love when people say this(not really), but i'll answer your question.It's a genre and the WHOLE VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY IS BASED ON OTHER GAMES.

At first I was disappointed in the finalized roster, but realized there are still a good amount of relevant PS characters. The beta definitely convinced me that I need to get this game. Very fun and I did pretty well with Sweet Tooth.

I've never heard of Polygon Man before today either. As far as my research tells me he was an advertising mascot that insulted people and it only lasted a few months?

Was it US only? I don't remember him, but then again I was little

Lol doesn't anybody remember that level in Super Smash brothers where you have to fight a horde of polygon-like creatures ? I find that ironic. And yea as soon as I started up the Playstation All Stars tutorial I realized how similar the two games are. You can't blame Sony for copying the mold though. PAS is good fun and I'm having a good time with the beta.

All that said, if they were to make Super Smash Bros. available as a PSN download with online play available (I know it's not possible), I would prefer that over PAS.
