WOW!! That ad was so full of win! Haha If Sony marketed like this ALL the time, they would be a lot better off. What an awesome ad.

That's the most appealing actual game ad I've seen in a while. Sony needs to blanket this thing all over the airwaves. It has that subversive, ironic vibe that the kids love nowadays.

I have to actually learn how to play this game much better... I'm like a five year old playing it. Goodness. My 11yr old daughters were laughing at me for Gods sake.

As much as I WANT to like this game its getting less and less appealing. That trailer with the rivals, some make sense/are cool where others like Evil Cole vs Fat Princess... is just dumb and proves even more so that Evil Cole is unnecessary as a character.

I'll definitely play the final build but my hopes are low

I agree. The game could use some more recognition for sure.

I think it will sell mostly by word of mouth. And friends wanting to play together or for a good party game.

As for the rivalries, I agree some are pretty strange. Still excited for the game however, even more so after watching the WNF stream.

Not just the best PSASBR Ad, but one of the best promos I've seen in a long time.

Word-of-Mouth is forced when it's pretty much only using YouTube for major advertising.

They need to drop in some TV spots by using clips of THAT trailer. That will seriously get people pumped for this game. Perhaps we'll start seeing something like that closer to the Holidays (though they probably should have already).

Amazing ad. The song is quite awesome, and ties it all in together.

Don't like some of the rivalries though.

The part with the Little Sister picking up and hugging Sack Boy was perfectly done, and very self aware of them. Awesome.

I see one or two rivalries that don't make sense (Sir Daniel and Colonel Radec are both military when you think about it, so I guess that's the connection?). I think some of these outcomes had to do with the limitations of the roster Superbot ended up with.

Ratchet vs. Jak = PS2 Platformer Rivalry
Nathan Drake vs. Sly = Treasure Hunters/Thieves Rivalry
Fat Princess vs. Evil Cole = ????
Sir Daniel Fortesque vs. Colonel Radec = Military Rivalry
Big Daddy vs. Sackboy = Little Sister Rivalry
Dante vs. Nariko = Ninja Theory Rivalry
Heihachi vs. Toro = Japan Rivalry
Spike vs. Parappa = PS1 Rivalry
Good Cole vs. Raiden = Lightning Rivalry
Sweet Tooth vs. Kratos = David Jaffe Rivalry

I think that makes sense but I still dislike the idea of seeing, Fat Princess in the game.

Great trailers overall. The UK version was hilarious while the one showcasing all the current cast of characters is a dream come true(Seeing Jak and Ratchet fight was great!).

I am severely disappointing with the final roster of characters and how small it is. Especially the whole Cole/Evil Cole thing when they could have included so many more characters like Cloud or Crash.

Why do I get the feeling they are going to try to milk the DLC. Played the BETA once, didn't enjoy the gameplay..too hectic for me.

^Probably. One interview indicated that Superbot had trouble securing characters because of differences with the IP holders.

PSASBR isn't a proven franchise, so I'll bet that a portion of those groups will hand over their characters on condition of DLC.

Probably won't get the roster we want until a GOTY version or until the sequel.

The roster has plenty of relevant PS characters. Sure, they could have had Crash, etc., but like Bio said, it really isn't up to SuperBot.

It still has a lot of other popular/recognizable characters like Kratos, Sackboy, Sly, Jak, Ratchet, and more. I agree that Fat Princess wasn't the greatest choice, but some people do like her and she gives some PSN representation.

I'll probably be doing a lot more 2v2 or 1v1 than FFA. It is pretty chaotic and half the time I don't even know what the hell is going on.

Yeah, the final roster isn't the biggest or the most impressive/all the fan favorites, but SuperBot can only do so much to secure characters for the game. This isn't Smash, where almost every single character is owned by Nintendo.

I still think they managed a fairly good amount of Sony known characters, and anxious to see the final product.

If PSABR sells well we can almost guarantee that we'll see all the characters we want as DLC or in a sequel on PS4!

How much dlc have we ever seen from any Sony exclusives? Minimal.
Games are like woman, what you might find attractive I might not, and none of us know if we really like them untill we have played around with them for a while.

I wouldn't think dlc makes much sense, from a business point of view if the game sells well enough to warrant dlc that would sell, I think they would be better to put them in a sequal.

If game companies stuck to that philosophy, DLC would not be as notoriously popular as it has been for pretty much the entire generation, right? For that reason, I don't think it's a stretch to think some of the remaining IP holders made DLC-based negotiations.

Also, a PSASBR sequel will probably be on PS4, which may lend the climate into lengthy development times by Superbot and a smaller install base. Would it really be that much more effective to wait until the sequel?

I'm not much of a business-savvy person so these are all hunches/educated guesses on my part.

Also minimal marketing. Except for PSASBR, it seems.

Finally got to try this out on the Vita... and I loved it. It's not something I'd play at home on my console, but the graphics, pacing, and jump-in/jump-out style of it is perfectly suited to a handheld, and I wouldn't mind taking it out to play for a few minutes during breaks at work.

Does the "transferring" thing work if I buy the Vita release and transfer it over to PS3? Or do you need the console copy in order to unlock the Vita copy? I ask because I'm sure the Vita versions of such games will be cheaper, and I'd like both this and the upcoming Sly game on the go rather than on my tv, with free versions of their console ports, just in case the desire strikes.

I know the VITA copies are cheaper but I don't think they come with a console version. It just wouldn't make sense to give a free copy of a console game with a 40 dollar game when other people pay 60 bucks for the console version.

PSN: Chesser19 - Add me if you want, but just say you're from the forums so I know.

Don't you get the Vita version free if you get the console version? Or something like that?
