From what I have seen the major negatives are that it is a Smash Bros clone (which does not bother me) and that it is lacking content wise. The biggest plus I have heard is that the combat is awesome (I haven't played the demo or beta or anything... I have been away from my PS3).
I may wait on this. I know there will be DLC characters and I might wait for the inevitable re-release with all the characters included or just wait for a price drop. I hope that Big Boss or Solid Snake is one of the DLC characters along with other iconic characters that were left out.

The game is solid. The combat far exceeds that found in Brawl so the whole "clone" thing is BS. A lot of reviews have it at 8/8.5 but as we all know, when reviewing fighting games, they only spend a bit of time with it then movie on. The game just came out, so the depth will only open itself up more as time goes on. With that being said, someone has already made a combo video. lol

Majority of the negatives are about how bland the game is outside of the actual gameplay. Fair enough point. Bit of trolling from Superbot though, as they said the ui/menus were just a placeholder but I guess not.
My order shipped this morning! Hopefully it's here by Friday

The game is pretty fun and I like what they have done. Stock matches online can be tough to finish when you're playing against someone who knows when to dodge your super. Pretty intense, but the network stuff is seamless, runs great and plays great. I understand the reviews with the negatives about things like the story mode, because yes, it's just a tutorial with random matches thrown in. Not a bad thing when learning a new character. For those who think they will play online a lot, it's pretty solid. Not to mention it's nice you can take a guest online with you too.

As an avid fighting game player, I learned not to care too much for menus or story in these kinds of games. As long as the gameplay is solid and fun, then I'm sold. Some reviews have docked points for the game having a "steep learning curve". Just wow.

Machinima and IGN say completely opposite things.
Machinima: Customization is lacking and almost too similar to Smash
IGN: Rich customization and very different from Smash
whaaaA?
Anyway, I think this is overall a success, albeit with almost entire focus on multiplayer and little on solo modes (expected, of course, though a lost opportunity to some degree IMO).

Game is incredibly fun and addictive as hell.
My favourite charactar is Sweet Tooth. Familiarised myself with him during the beta and tried a bunch of other charactars today but I keep going back to him. Drake is also very good, as well as Radec. Surprised I couldn't get to grips with either of the Cole's though
Seriously, this game is amazing. Me and my bro played together for like 6 hours total today. Online has been buttery smooth

Been having so much fun with this game it's crazy. Me and my buddy just hit the purple belt is 2v2. Just one question, does anyone know the order the belts go in?

PSN: Chesser19 - Add me if you want, but just say you're from the forums so I know.

Loving this game thus far. Almost didn't buy it...but so glad that I did. Kicking ass with Big Daddy at the current moment.

Did the same thing with Big Daddy. I won all with him now. Just suck with everyone else... lol I've just now started tinkering with Drake. After about 30 minutes with a CPU dummy to practice on, I can now juggle people in air like it ain't no thang with Drake. Once you know what works for each character, along with their shortcomings, then you kick ass.

It's pretty good on the Vita, but the game feels kind of sparse. It's not as "lively" and full of content and awesome stuff like Super Smash Bros.
The levels also don't appear to have any ability to 'fall' and die- which I find kind of disappointing.

That's fine with me. I'm actually getting the game for free... soooo.. I won't complain about anything other than losing a lot of times in it lol.
