Hey, Ghost. i've decided to take an interest in Dust 514. (apparently its really good )

i was chatting to some mates of mine who are in, however i didn't get a chance to ask them; i HATE the Unreal Engine. it is the engine of satan as far as im concerned. however, in spite of that, does it perform well on the PS3?

secondly, Beta is open to PS+ member right?

A ha! It is not a bad idea to at least explore the game.

Performance wise, it is still a little rough around the edges but is still completely playable and enjoyable. What CCP are doing here hasn't been done so far, there is a shitload of technology and innovation going in to really linking the PC to consoles.

I'm not the biggest fan of FPS games either, but I am a fan of hardcore customisation and completely badass innovation and ambition, of which Dust is unmatched in.

I remember way back it was talked about making a merc group with PSU players. Is that still happening? I am in the beta now.

I'd be super down to pick up that train of thought. I don't have unlimited time to play, but I've been playing pretty religiously from the beginning. Personally I'm absolutely loving this game. Once I got further down the customization path, and started to specialize in my role it was amazing.

It is definitely still happening! I'm just saving up the money required to start a corporation...but first wanted to get my dropships sorted. :P

I intend to make two divisions in the PSU merc corps; one for casual players and one for those who want to take it to the next level and be part of the merc corp hired by EVE players to take and protect land.

is it up on PS+ in a specific region?

I got in the beta in august, didnt enjoy it so I deleted it. Want to get back in and game with a friend but I cant redownload it, but in my services list I got the "all access". I use the PSN stores search but I cant find it, I checked months back in my download history but cant find it. Can you not redownload the client or something? :S

I even got a Dust 514 Beta code through joystiq, but I got a "code was used" notification when I went to download it. I feel so cursed :lol

In my PSN, I go Game > PS+ > Exclusive offers. See if it's there. Failing that, we will have US beta codes soon.

I hope to get back in this game soon, like this upcoming weekend. This past weekend was my wife's birthday, so I was busy with her all day Sunday. Saturday I finished up Ghost Recon: Future Soldier as well as finished up Medal of Honor: Warfighter. While we were out Sunday, we stopped at Best Buy and I bought Forza Horizon.

So I will be juggling Halo 4, Dust 514, Forza Horizon and Black Ops 2 for the remainder of 2012. At least I can dedicate myself to only 4 games for awhile. With January being a dry release month, I can carry those 4 games through then as well.

I just got a Dust 514 survey in my email this weekend, and I filled it out to support the beta process

Yeah it does, but if you have PS+ you can also get in. Furthermore, we are expecting a crap load of US codes any time from CCP, so you don't have to buy the merc pack.

This game would be 50x better if they fix the controls. Right now, it feels like they mapped mouse movements to a controller. It's nearly impossible to aim at long distances using it this way.

I'm really having a hard time with long range fire fights. Given how hard it is to snipe across the map, the least they can do is give us one hit kills (on the body)

I'm using the default assualt rifle dropsuit. the best I ever did was K/D = 3/10 I think

Thing is, with this game being like an RPG, you have to train the weapons, even in range. Also, when you use militia gear (the default) you are basically wearing wet toilet paper for armor. Buying some better gear, even the cheap stuff, can make a difference. The normal assault' rifle (costs about 5000ISK)has a clip of 60. those extra 13 bullets can make a big difference on the battlefield, and thats just with a minor investment. When you start buying better armor and modifying it, you will become more durable...or just become a dropship pilot like I plan to...They will be needed.

Also I have a question; when you level up a skill to lv5, there is an option to purchase skill book. What does that do? unlock the next tier of that skill?

Ah thanks! Yeah open beta will do for me I played it a few months ago and really liked it but I don't fancy signing up to PS+ to play lol yep first time I've been around in a while! Thought I'd check out how much this place has changed...seems to be a lot of new faces and not so many of the older ones.

indeed, there aren't as many older poster nowadays.
its tough to stay active as you get older though
had way more time when i was teenager

if you want, ccp sent me a code (despite myself already participating in the beta) im not sure if it still works but your welcome to it if you want? its an EU code though...
