We were at a stalemate, but some of the jurors were not sure of the patent prosecution process. Some were not sure of how prior art could either render a patent acceptable or whether it could invalidate it. What we did is we started talking about one and when the day was over and I was at home, thinking about that patent claim by claim, limit by limit, I had what we would call an a-ha moment and I suddenly decided I could defend this if it was my patent…And with that, I took that story back to the jury and laid it out for them. They understood the points I was talking about and then we meticulously went patent by patent and claim by claim against the test that the judge had given us, because each patent had a different legal premise to judge on. We got those all sorted out and decided which ones were valid and which ones were not.

Basically he convinced the others to go with what he owns.

Also, if they actually took the time, it would have taken a lot longer. 700 questions, in 2.5 days. Just over 2 mins per issue? wtf.

It won't stay @ $2B. This is not good for consumers either. I wonder how Samsung caused $2B in actual damage to Apple? I seriously doubt people went into a store wanting an iPhone, saw a Galaxy and said "Oh man, that's JUST like an iPhone.... I'll get that instead!". The funny thing is, vanilla Android is superior to all the skinned versions (IMO), and it's the least iPhone like of all the different versions.

Also, funny how Apple copies Android features like the drop down notifications menu.... and sue other companies that make phones that are just rectangular with a black border and similar icons...

Basically he convinced the others to go with what he owns.

I don't see anything in his statement that is out of the ordinary. Convincing others is part of the jury process. They didn't have to listen or believe a word he said.

fuck samsung, it was clear to see from the S1 that it was a iphone copy. yes they have gone on to better the iphone...ATM, but all they did was copy and apple to start with

It seems this lawsuit has really backfired on Apple. The lawsuit has garnered a lot of attention to the patent system, as a result many key Apple patents have been invalidated and I wouldn't doubt that more are to come.

On top of this one of Apples key goals of getting an injunction on Samsung products has failed and while Samsung was denied a retrial on jury misconduct they are likely to get a retrial (or at least greatly reduced damages) due to the invalidated patents.

My gf has a iPhone 4s and the 5 isn't really a HUGE improvement over it. All the rumors I heard about the 5 before it was released and it didn't live up to any of those out there rumors smh
