I think 60GB will be enough for a lot of 1080p movie trailers, game trailers etc. I have a 1080p Spider-Man 3 trailer which is 144MB, 60GB should be enough for a lot. Game saves shouldn't be an issue.
PS3 will take any 2.5" Hard Drive, so if there is a 300GB one it will work.

60 GBs can give you around... 10+ hours of HD movies, which is a lot, but if you are a technoholic, that will run out. In that case, you can back up your files onto USB thumbdrives and or SD cards and transfer them back into your new HDD. I don't know how transferring data straight from HDD to HDD would work since that usually requires you to pop the hatch for a PC.
WIndows is a much more user friendly OS while Linux is less so, but more technically superior in a sense. Linux in the PS3 will most likely be installed to power the Xross Media Bar and how it serves to be a general utility OS (like Windows) on a structure like the cell is yet unknown.
They haven't said anything about it, but having delayed the European launch back to March, I think they [Sony] will be in great shape to throw a couple million PS3s at you, and there are certain to be 20GB ones in the mix.
No, even though an OS like the Linux is running on the PS3, the cell is a completely different CPU than which the computer games are designed to run on. Computer game codes simply won't know where to go when running through a cell.
Xross Media Bar or X media bar... which signifies Cross Media Bar... It is the user Interface for the PS3, the one that is similar to the PSP's...
1. back up your files onto a removable drive like an SD card or a USB stick and transfer them into the PS3 that way.1. How will i transfer music/videos/pictures to the PS3?

2. Yes."and I mean If he doesn't like you after he sees this, then you're just gonna have to go back home and put some more make up on."

There will probably be a HD VGA cable for the connection between your PS3 and the monitor. The Xbox 360 has that so I guess the PS3 will have that too.

Does your monitor have DVI port? What is the native resolution of your monitor?
-
10-02-2006 #93
So just get a HDMI to DVI cable assuming your monitor is fairly new..
If not, then might be a good idea to get a new LCD monitor =)

There was rumors that it is a European only title, and I don't think any word pertaining to its north American release has surfaced yet. However, if that game is popular, I doubt that their dumb secretary will find excuses to keep it overseas.
There will be about fifteen titles on launch on Nov. 17th at last press release.
Some of the prominent games are F.E.A.R.; Resistance; WarHawk; Oblivion PS3; And a load of EA ports.
there is also rumor that Killzone 3 might make it, but that's just a rumor.
HDMi loses minimal quality when converting, however, with your monitor, it will probably just downscale to 720P unless your monitor also does the downscaling.
Expect black bars, but not giant ones..."and I mean If he doesn't like you after he sees this, then you're just gonna have to go back home and put some more make up on."

to have it in hi-def on your computer moniter you would need an HDMI to DVI cable. Im goin to use my pc moniter as a substitute for a hi def tv.

I think you can use a VGA cable for HD. You need to convert it from HDMI, which shouldn't be that hard (I'm sure there are adaptors).
However it's much easier to convert HDMI>DVI and if your comp has DVI port then you're all set to go. I believe PS3 does custom res. so that's pretty cool.PSN ID: solinent | I accept all friend requests! |
