Uncharted 3 MP question

Naturally I googled it first but didn't find an answer so I'm posting here.

I'm rank 34 and during my 18 hours or so play time I have come across players with up to 3 attachments on their weapons while I can only equip one. How do I get those additional attachments?

If I remember correctly, some weapons already come with an attachment (or two?) by default, like 'Nate's AK' or something. I think you can also put your own custom attachment on those specialised guns. I think you get those specialised guns by accumilating treasures in the games you play, and luck out, basically

I could be completely wrong. I haven't played UC3 mp for a long time

Oh, got it. Guess there's a good reason now to get those guns.
