I chose Uncharted over GoW. I could never really enjoy those games too much, but you can't discredit GoW. Some of those boss fights are just amazing and the presentation is incredible. There's more to it than just gory depictions of violence.

As for the bonus question, I couldn't pick. Losing either would be a big loss for gamers. Nobody wins.

I enjoyed the PSP releases, and GOW3 for sure. Uncharted was more in my heart during game play, while GOW wasn't; story wise that is.

I'll give you that, storywise the GOW games have a very simple premise. Uncharted series, love the vibe and method of story-telling. Not to mention it executes like a well designed movie, but doesn't bore you with incredibly long cutscenes.

I've never thought the cut-scenes were very long. They might actually be, and I was just pulled in very well lol.

Oh they aren't long I don't think, just saying that they do a good job of telling a story and playing out like a movie without long cutscenes. If you think about it, parts where you aren't shooting a dude in the face or climbing over something, you usually have a long sequence of running away from something, trying not to get blown up by the environment, get slammed to the side of a building, the floor gives out and you fall through, etc.

Those sequences really help the movie feel and in some cases (i.e. anything with trains, U2) further the story through the player experiencing the situation instead of watching (i.e. cutscene). Another reason why I pick Uncharted over GoW.

    I gotcha. That makes sense. I wasn't into 3 as much as I loved 1 and 2.

    Just a few.

Note I said help develop because a good bit of those are collaborations with other studios, but it just goes to show you how many games they have their hands in.

Naughty Dog can not even fake the productivity that Santa Monica has. Sony would be committing suicide if they got rid of Santa Monica rather than Naughty Dog.

Just because the majority of you in this thread hate the fact that God of War is as popular/successful as it is, still does not deter it from being an EPIC game and franchise.

And the company that makes that game holds the most productivity out of any Sony studio.

Oh yea, God of War 3 all the way baby and it still holds the crown of best console graphics. Now hate, hate, hate on.
I meant to say the God of war team, not the entire studio. And none of the games you listed have extremely great 'human' characters. The only games that stand out in the list are from That game company not the GOW team.

    100% agree.

As much as I got frustrated in some parts of GOW3 - those boss fights were just absolutely epic. Pandora's maze and the actual prison was awesome too.

Only downside of the GOW series (and this is a very minor, nitpicky one a that) is that Kratos is a bit simple of a lead character.

uncharted for me. among thieves was simply a masterpiece in my eyes. o/t: mind you, I've had some epic laughs using the super old fiat 500's on that really steep rally track (think it was the eiger)
