Anyone else a bit sceptical about these amazing looking games that are far from release from major developers being current gen when Nextgen is supposedly next year
I'm not saying they aren't current gen, more like why are those IP's releasing on a current gen platform so close to a Nextgen release, and some of them like MGS are flagship titles
And there also a chance MGS:GZ & MGS:TPP are two different games
I know current gen has the userbase but that's never been the case previously with like MGS2 etc
Its like they know Nextgen ain't arriving in the period they will be releasing
This sort of stuff makes me think Nextgen not coming till 2014 at the earliest

Also, The Phantom Pain seems to be the aforementioned Project OGRE, and Kojima has said that Ground Zeroes and OGRE are two separate games.

I just read this from the Metal Gear Wiki, but I don't know about its validity:

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is the first game running on the current-gen Fox Engine and Metal Gear Solid 5 will be running on an enhanced Fox Engine.

If true, that could definitely mean that, as someone said in this thread before, V will be a next gen title.

‘Metal Gear Solid 5’ and ‘The Phantom Pain’ coming to PS3, Xbox 360; new details

On Monday morning, new information concerning the mysterious title, “The Phantom Pain”, surfaced which suggests the title will release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

As we detailed a couple days ago, during the Spike TV “Video Game Awards”, an enigmatic franchise was shown known as “The Phantom Pain” which left people wondering what it was, who was making it, and what consoles it was for.

Soon after the title’s debut, internet sleuths pieced together various clues to come to the conclusion that “The Phantom Pain” is a Hideo Kojima title and is likely “Metal Gear Solid V” – or “Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes”.

On Monday, the official website of Moby Dick Studios, supposed development studio of “Phantom Pain”, was updated with new screens and other information which helps shed new light on the project.

According to the website, “The Phantom Pain” is currently in development for Xbox 360 and PS3 and that the trailer shown on Friday evening was running in real-time on hardware equivalent to current generation consoles.

The website reads:

The next issue of Famitsu, due out next week, will have “something surprising for Metal Gear Solid fans,” this week’s copy of the magazine teases.

Perhaps it has something to do with The Phantom Pain? Which many believe is in fact Metal Gear Solid V?
