So is this tech seen in snake's hand in the footage was future tech or of the current time this was set... It stated somewhere that it was set in the 70's

We took two looks at the photo of Joakim Mogren posted by Geoff Keighley on Instagram today (pictured on right), and immediately thought, "he reminds us of someone currently out of work!" Cliff Bleszinski certainly looks similar to the man in the bandages, at least from what little we can see. Note the light blue color of the eyes, skin, and lip color.

What could Cliff Bleszinski be up to and who could he be up to it with? What if Hideo Kojima and Cliff Bleszinski are working together on Metal Gear or related games like The Phantom Pain? It makes a lot more sense than you'd think.

We really couldn't think of a better person to head up a development team separate from Kojima's own. Plus, Cliffy B's invovlement with other franchises, namely the multi-million selling Gears of War franchise, would add even more draw power to the project. It also explains why Cliffy B has been spotted in so many pictures with Kojima, and helped celebrate Metal Gear's 25th anniversary at PAX Prime in Seattle this past year.

Asked by a fan if there is still a chance the game is Metal Gear, he replied, “Definitely still a chance, once you see the interview a bit more will become clear.”

I suppose it would make sense if Kojima would work with someone like Cliffy B. Kojima already partnered with Platinum Games with the MGR spinoff game. Perhaps he's trying to expand what the core Metal Gears can be, too, by putting his mind together with other industry figures to help him get to that level of expansion.

The Phantom Pain will see a full unveiling at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco later this month, Moby Dick Studio CEO Joakim Mogren has confirmed.

“Yes, I plan on attending this show [GDC] coming up in San Francisco, but I don’t have anything to show today, unfortunately,” said Mogren on tonight’s episode of GameTrailers TV. “This year’s GDC show, I will have a new Phantom Pain trailer, and I can confirm that it will answer all of your questions.”

Asked if the game is a next-generation one, Mogren said, “Unfortunately, I cannot confirm that.” Pressed if Moby Dick has next generation developer kits, he said he could not confirm that either.

Mogren, then showed host Geoff Keighley a few new concept arts and screenshots on his iPad, which featured a FOX Engine logo in the lower right corner.
