In case you missed the news, the PS Vita received a new software update (v. 1.80) earlier this week. Aside from the user interface changes, the biggest added feature was PS one compatibility. However, as some of you noticed, the day one list of games was a little short. We’re happy to help remedy that situation today by releasing 26 more PS one titles for your PS Vita, and they’re available right now.
This isn’t the end though, we’re doing our best to get even more PS one titles on PS Vita as quickly as possible. As a reminder, if you’ve already purchased any of these titles you’ll be able to re-download them directly from your PS Store account or transfer them to your PS Vita from your PS3 at no extra charge.

The Aussie store has quite the selection, all the Square Enix games. Will test out the ones I own before I go on a spending spree.
Just like we thought, back touch is R2/3 and L2/3 with full button assign for jap games.
Now all we need is manual zoom function for screen size and we'll be set.
Btw, Crash Team Racing looks very bright and rich in colour on that oled baby.Last edited by mickice; 08-31-2012 at 04:40.

Just a question. All these PS1 games all use the directional arrows to move and none use the sticks. Is there a way to use them because its awful frustrating. I see where you can customize the controller but there is nothing for the sticks.

You can switch the control from Digital to Analog in the emulator menu. If the original game on PSone supported Analog (red light = on, on original DualShock) then you can use analogs on the Vita, games like Ape Escape. If the game, like FFVII, originally had Digital controls then you'll be stuck with the d-pad. Unfortunate, but that's how it is
I'm totally fine playing FFVII atm. Helps that the Vita d-pad is glorious

I play Final Fantasy VII on my psp with the thumbstick. Ill check it out on my Vita now.
Seems like a bug, going fron digital to analog locks all the button inputs in FFVII.
Bring on fw 1.81 lol.Last edited by mickice; 09-01-2012 at 03:21.

Nah it's not a bug. If my memory serves me right FFVII didn't support the analog stick back in the day. Pressing the analog on button in the middle of the original dualshock locked up the controls because it did not support analog mode. The reason you could use the nub on the psp is that you can map the d-pad to the nub. Can't do that on psv

The first Final Fantasy to support the sticks was VIII.
Trophy-licious!

You know what I don't get I remember you could use the analog in the ps1 version of FF7 as long as you put the red light on. I don't see why they can't put it in again. Although the ps3 you couldn't use the analog as well..It's weird..lol

Just started FFVII on the Vita today. Not played long but no issues using the D-Pad. Brilliant to see VIII and IX are now available to download right from the device, too.
Many Final Fantasy hours ahead for my Vita.

FF7 on the PS1 never had the analogue functionality because there wasn't an analogue controller released at the time. The first one came out when (excluding the NegCon as that was a twist controller) was the dual analogue controller (the one without "DualShock") which was release several months after FF7 was released. The DualShock controller was released in 1998 at the same time as Gran Turismo.

Yup, so games that did not support Analog on the original PS1 will not support analog on the Vita (or PS3) either
