So Ground Zero was just shown off. I'm wondering though, why do the promo pics of the 25th Anniversary of Metal Gear show Snake as a young soldier while in the demo trailer you can clearly see that he is a lot older with gray hair.
Any ideas? I'm sure Kojima has something crazy for us, or maybe it was just a promo image with young snake and nothing more![]()

Kojima said at the event that MGS:GZ is a prelude to MGS5. I don't know if he meant the entire game or just what was shown in the demo, however it seems clear that MGS5 is a different entitiy somehow. I speculated in another thread that the line "from FOX, two phantoms were born" is referring to Fox Engine, and that the other "phantom" will be MGS5 which will feature Solid Snake.

but it doesnt really make sense because the promo snake also has an eyepatch and is presumed to be big boss, so why have young big boss and old big boss.

The only problem is Solid Snake didn't join FOXHOUND until 95

What's the patch on the shoulder of the "young" Big Boss? It's not the FOX badge as seen in the trailer..
Er.. I just realized that the patch on the "young" Big Boss would have been on his left shoulder since it's a mirror image, and the FOX emblem is on his right shoulder in the footage.
But still, does anyone recognize it?

I dont think there was any real intent. Just may have been the way the promo was first made. I remember all the speculation over the first Raiden Rising image when he had the brown eyes. People were debating whether or not it was Raiden or Grey Fox. I always knew it was Raiden but people insisted differently. Everyone speculating may just be reading into the colour of his beard and hair a little too much.
Honestly I expect the next few main MGS games to be focused on Big Boss' perspective through the series right until his fight with Snake in Zanzibar. Kojima has shifted the focus of the MGS universe from Snake to his father..so rather then the series being Snake fighting his father's legacy it's shifted to Big Boss' life and all the repercussions his actions caused in the field that shaped the MGS world as we know it.Thank You Shaq...For Everything

Is MGS a franchise worth playing? I COULD think of MGS4 and maybe a PS2 title that was remastered for PS3, but a PS1 game?! No way. That's too gameboy-y for me. But that's why I ask you. Is it worth it? I've never played a Metal Gear game, but I will buy Rising Revengeance.
Kratos throws a grenade. Grenade kills 50 undead soldiers. Then the grenade explodes.

It's not worth playing if you're gonna skip the best one.

Just in case I'm not late to the party: you can see the 10-minute demo (dude with effed-up face, Kid who is a human iPod, Snake sneaking into the base, etc.) on the website. FOX engine looks super amazing when comparing it to current gen. While that was running on PC, it's likely that what we see there is what next-gen graphics will look like.
Any idea on which Snake he is? Considering that we have theories on the iPod kid being Raiden, maybe it's Big Boss or Solidus?
