I never played the original half life either but will check this out. Not a huge fan of HL2 and certainly not a Valve fan, so will approach it critically with no nostalgia

Gave it a try and i must say that im not a fan of horror labyrinth games. I am already stuck at some point and dont have any motivation to continue.

In the water system. When you have to turn the water reservator wheel and then the water level rises and you start slowly drowning and panically searching for an exit.

Oh yea I know that part, I had the same problem but then I decided to find the exit before turning the valve on and memorize the route from the exit to the valve.
If my memory serves me right its not that far either.

Only Valve and the devs know and when they know we will know.
If you cannot wait just download it. ITs a Source mod so goes in your steam folder and list anyway.

It sounds like You suffer from simulator sickness. ITs a common issue with FPS type games increasing the Field of View (FOV) can help but in theis game its only goes up to 90 max unless you use cheats but then that renders achievements null and void.
Did you watch the video in full screen?
