    Ace Combat 6

Dear God! In my desperate prayers for a Zone of the Enders, I completely forgot about Ace Combat!

Is anyone else here into fighter simulations? Am I alone in my thirst for next gen missile raining destruction-fests?

Ace Combat is flight shoot em up not simulator, reminds me of the wing commander and strike commander, in a good way.

Couple new Ace Combat games for ps3 would be very nice.

Yes! Ace Combat 5 was my first Ace Combat game and it was a blast. If they make an Ace Combat 6, pretty much the only thing to touch up would be the ground structures and textures. I'd like to see my missles make small craters in the ground, and trees and cars explode when fired upon.

    Its going to look amazing.
Then the PSP included a touchscreen. Then the PSP included more ram. Then the PSP finally ditched the crappy UMD format.

And then the PSP was perfect...

i wanted this for a while... AC is one of the most gorgeous games ever... it's kinda like the GT of Flight games... I could only imagine what they'd do this time around... great storyline as usual... and maybe to sweeten the deal, throw in an Online mode with clans/squadrons to invade other's lands and such... make it have the gameplay of the singleplayer game, online with clans, with a Real Time Strategy aspect to it... priceless...

If it's anything like the Next-Gen Afterburner footage shown by SEGA in their closed-doors presentation, then I'd be all over another Flight Shoot-'Em-Up - I've been a big fan of Ace Combat for a while now. I'd personally like to see another iteration on the PS3.

AC4+5 were the best games I have ever played. AC4 was awesome with all the superweapons you need to destroy and the story was top-notch, your not the main character got to me though... AC5 was a little step, but 60 planes is way better than 20, the story suffer a slow pace, but there was more variety in the missons. (2nd rental and I have X02 + Falcon already). AC 6 should be more stylized, AC4 was more "touching" than AC5, And the planes looked more realistic, AC is more of an arcade game, gravity, mass, and inertia are left out, it feels more like just floating than flying.

I always skipped the story cut scenes and played the game ^^ I dunno, it just struck me as wierd. One second you're hearing about some kid getting killed or some tear jerker crud and the next you are blasting F14s out of the sky..

I just wish they would remake Tie Fighter, to this day its still the best game I have ever played.

The hours I spent on my PC protecting freighters from rebel raiders I can't remember.

AC3 was a little funky, detracted from the series too much.

Wah? Kid getting killed, never heard that? Tear jerkers are always pretty funny to me "my grandmother was killed by a runnaway tomahawk missile..." , what a laugh. Only on video games or movies, not in real-life situations, I'm not THAT sick.

the AC is considered to be a flight sim. it isn't an arcade type shooter. it is the GT of flight games. keep in mind that 'fixed' objects like cars, buildings, plains, streets, etc will look the best. humans and other flexible, changing in-game objects are much harder to do. that is what GT and AC look extremely well. for that, I expect such gams to look exactly like real cars and planes. I might also note the quote in the Vision of Gran Turismo clip: 'from partly real to full reality' or in those words.

As a simulator we had better games on C64, Amiga and early <=pentium pc.

As a shooter AC is plenty of fun, but it is far from being simulation.

Realistic flight physics, a physics engine that simulates real air lifting the wings and gravity. I want to pull off Super Cobras and fly at high AOA's to hit targets easier. Realistically destructible planes, so in a steep dive the wings will rip off or on high G turns. Stealth would be nice, but speeds over MACH2 would melt off RAM and make the stealth useless. A less annoying gun system than found in the previous games, so I can hit targets atleast.

Slightly more realistic flight physics would be nice, but game itself might change too much if they would go too far.

Game is supposed to be fun game which you can play a bit after work, not game with 15 button presses to start your engine for liftoff.

Aircraft junkies like me want more, and hoping this game will deliver. Oooo...An AWACS controller, goody! So when your online with your clan, a person with a PSP can track stats: Speed, Altitude, AOA, Degrees on X axis, Degrees on B axis, If they are Locked onto or are Fired at if they are it states what missile type it is, If they are Locked onto or are Firing at an enemy it states Fox1/2, Damage (tells if stalled), and Amount of ammo left. This is all on a list of names and you can scroll up or down the list . The next screen shows the combat area much like the mission debriefing screen looked like in AC4+5 with a zooming feature and the geography mapped out so you can warn your friends if they are in trouble(your friends are the floating arrows with the paths also). If the AWACS presses "start" the game is paused for an sertait amount of time stated by the AWACS for a break. Mini games that are unlocked can be activated by the AWACS in the middle of a match, if the enemy team wins they get extra points, if they lose they gain nothing. Stats can be accessed in another screen (like number of kills losses etc.). This may be too indepth for some people but it is optional.

I'd love full simulators as well, but id like AC to stay pretty close to shoot em up..
Sturmovic and other 'true' simulators might find mighty home on ps3, at least there would be more possible buyers than on pc side.

I was always mesmerized by the replays of the Ace Combat games, especially 4 ( why havent I played 5 yet???????? ).

Good lord, if they made a remake of Tie Fighter and it was even half as good as it was on the PC ( i need to find this.... ) I'd need a change of shorts

The European version of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War is named Ace Combat 5: Squadron Leader, so yeah its either a loss in translation of name change.

A feature to turn the advanced physics on/off would solve the problems. Its always anoying, trying to dupe enemy planes way more manuverable than you only by turning...ugh... more lifelike movment would allow for a wider range of movement of your planes, a higher degree of expirience would be required, and a greater range of fancy moves able to be performed. :P
