It definitely feels different. Anyone that says otherwise doesn't play Fifa.
Much more responsive for sure. Feels more real.
And although it's not gameplay, the slow menu has been an annoyance for years, so glad they made that better.
They haven't gotten rid of the in-game stat updates in the top left that I can't fathom who the hell actually looks at those. They just get in the way.
Much better AI though. 12 felt like they could tackle and intercept at will, and couldn't misplace a pass ever.

It's Fifa 12 with a rubber ball. I can notice very small differences elsewhere, but really, they are negligible. The game seems to flow a little better, less constipated. The menus do seem faster. Great... the menus in previous games were a joke especially 12. But why couldn't they have fixed that with a patch? And this will cost us £35 lol. More than ever FIFA feels like an expansion pack to the previous game, less even. It's practically FIFA 12.5
The form thing is ridiculous, why bring back something nobody liked before? hope you can turn that off
The first touch is as stupid an idea as the "pro passing" was in Fifa 11 and it is implemented in exactly the same flawed manner. They have decided that professional footballers the world over can't trap a ball properly as well as failing to pass the ball 5 yards with any real competence. Every touch is now a dice roll

I skipped Fifa 12 so I won't feel too bad investing in this one. I played a ton of it at other peoples houses though and the menus are much better like you said. That was always something I disliked about Fifa games so I'm glad that's fixed.
From what I could figure out you just press Triangle when choosing your team and it switches the live form, or whatever, off. If that's what you meant.
Annoyed that Santi isn't in the squad for the demo : (

What I look forward to most, other than gameplay improvements, is Career mode, and from what I've seen so far I will love it.
Aside from that, Club mode, which was incredibly frustrating in 12. The new additions of search filters for GKs and non-CPU any's are a godsend.
I never tried Ultimate Team as there was no fucking way I was spending real money in the game, but with the Gamestop preorder bonus of 24 gold packs, I'll definitely check it out. (By the way, THAT's what I call a preorder bonus, not a character skin.)
World class with slow game speed seems to be the preferable setting so far.Last edited by Shibby; 09-13-2012 at 02:35.

I thought the concrete boots in 12 was bad but this is something else entirely. It's crazy. Walcott and Gervinho getting absolutely smoked for pace by old, knackered defenders lol. Mertesacker can keep up with Pato and Aguero!
I have noticed they have fixed the outside of the boot shooting. It now does it much more regularly rather than just using the laces or your weaker foot

I haven't noticed any drastic changes and Fifa 12's biggest problem which was the AI doing all the defending for you online is still in the game. That's a game breaker for me and will definitely pass on it as playing online has become predictable and just ridiculous overall.

You do not need to spend a single penny on FUT? The only time it was mandatory to have to part with money was on the first version of FUT, they released it as DLC, ever since then it has been on the disc, free to play, free to complete. There are options to spend money - if you wish - but that doesn't hinder anyone who doesn't pay, which is a hell of a lot of us.
In regards to the demo, I haven't downloaded it yet, but will assume is the same engine as the FUT Beta, at which I am loving, and find the engine to be a breath of fresh air. Players and ball all work independently of each other, gone are the times of heading a ball (from a goal kick) and knowing exactly where it was going to go, and that it was never going to fall to your player. Now it really could go anywhere, unless you are aiming properly. The ball doesn't just land at a players feet either, if you pass to hard, then yeah it's going to bounce off the receiving player, control your passes, and place them better. Loving it so far. Can't wait for the full game release - just a shame I'm going to have to wait a week till pay day. Knew I should have pre-ordered.

I quite like it, the build up play is definitely better as is the AI movement. I didn't expect much changes to be honest just a more polished game with a few changes.

The best news about Fifa 13 is that Rangers FC have been all but confirmed to be in the game.
They will be in the Rest of the World category.Steam ID: satchgear
XBL GT: satchgear
