It was a completely unremarkable series, and Insomniac have been unremarkable this generation on the whole.
It has no easily recognizable main character like Master Chief, it had extremely ordinary graphics for the time of each release, and it just never 'felt' right in motion.

Agree. I've played Halo/s and I find them utterly boring. I just can't get into them. Now that isn't saying they are bad, obviously they aren't, the sales figures and reviews prove as much, but for me personally they are boring games (As are all FPS) Originally Posted by TDbank24

I agree with this post, but, I'd like to add that I don't think there would be much to the backstory of Halo had not the original game been so popular... Originally Posted by mynd

That you can read up and delve into the back story of Halo so well, its quite an amzing universe to find youself in.
My son started playing Halo, bear in mind he's a jaded 12 year old whos played quite a few shooters.
The next thing I know hes reading this:
Halo has the "it" factor, I have no idea what it is, but its certianly got it in spades.
It was the success of Halo that inspired so much building upon the Halo universe, or at least that's my obvious theory...
