That would be a horrible move. It would cause sales of the ps3 to be slower than they are now.

I'd love a mention of PS4 or what Sony are aiming for the next generation. One thing is more than certain to me: the console won't be called PS4. All my bets is that they're going to go for a complete rebranding and refresh of the brand and just call this new console THE Playstation, no numbers.

If they mentioned it they would kill any momentum the PS3 has kinda like what Sega did with the 32X in the mid 90's by releasing it then saying BTW the saturn will be coming this year. I sure hope sony has more business sense then sega did. I believe Sega failed or sacrificed so us gamers and the gaming companies don't make the same mistakes they did. Lol

My guess is that we will see the super slim PS3 at TGS, but probably won't hear anything about PS4 until next year...I bet they will unveil it at E3 next year with it actually releasing November 2013. Hopefully since all the rumored parts are pretty standard items it won't have any shortages come Christmas 2013! I am still holding onto hopes that they will put dual full power GPUs into the machine on top of the one built into the CPU (makes 3 total GPUs), based on the rumored hardware it really wouldn't cost too much more to do that and it would greatly extend the lifespan of the system, and it would allow the GPU that is built into the CPU to solely concentrate on physics, etc. letting the other dual card setup handle all the graphics! Tell me that setup wouldn't make some awesome visuals! I know it is a long shot, but I can dream...

I honestly feel if the Wii U is a huge hit then Sony will be making a PS4 announcement before e3 as well as microsoft...to steal Nintendo's thunder

I could see that happening...but I have a gut feeling that Nintendo will be hurting after this generation, with the pricing they plan to sell the Wii U for and the fact the novelty of that controller will wear off quickly is going to leave them in a bad spot. The Wii U is just going to be on par with Xbox360 and PS3 performance-wise and it will carry a price tag that is much higher, especially once the super slim PS3 comes out, which I am going to take a stab and say will be in the sub $200 price range ($199 anyone?). If I am right, then the cost of an extra Wii U controller will be almost as much as a new PS3 or Xbox360, which both have a WAY better library of games!
