Borderlands 2 is a joyful experience, full of humour and character. It manages to walk the fine line between silly base humour and a more intelligent wit too, which is something almost unique in videogames. With a narrative that expands on the original storyline in every conceivable way and so many ways to play, different characters to build and so much cooperative fun to be had, it’s hard to see a downside. While there are occasional issues with enemies clipping into scenery and there is some quite noticeable texture fade-in as you enter new areas, it’s nothing that can’t easily be forgiven in a game of this magnitude. Borderlands 2 is one of the unmissable videogame experiences of the year.

Compared to the dull, empty-eyed stoicism of so many triple-A games, it's still a welcome blast of idiot humour, too. How many other action-game heroes tackle enemies called Bullymongs by backing straight over them in a Hummer? How many others enter a room and chuck down a turret with a lofty shout of "Meet mah girlfriend"? And how many others fight through the scrum until their bullets are all gone and their quad-barrelled shotgun is click-click-clicking on empty chambers, yet can still look like they're having the best time of their ever-lovin' lives?

Borderlands 2 preserves the best parts of the franchise while also making numerous, much needed improvements to areas like narrative and class skill design. Additional visual customization options would make it better, and the occasional technical issue takes away from the experience, but overall this is an excellent shooter no one even remotely curious should overlook. Prepare to level. Prepare to loot. Prepare to get lost in the hilarious, bizarre and wonderful world of Pandora.

Since it is an RPG, your co-op experience will be best if you stick to groups within five levels of your character. Go too far outside of that and you'll either be one-shotting enemies or stuck in an aggravating cycle of death and revival. However, you'll always know what you're getting into as the matchmaking clearly specifies whether or not a host is a good fit.

If you liked BL1, you will LOVE BL2. For the most part it plays the same but so many improvements they've done that just make it that much better.

Love the mini map, the little effect when your shield gets depleted, how scopes now show what your looking at when not zoomed in, the menus, and theres so many other little things.

Also, make sure you sign up for the shift Code thing, I got a Golden Key - and since I preordered, I now have TWO

I got this game yesterday, oh man. This game is fuckin sweet and I am enjoying every bit of it. I never played borderlands 1 but the people at gamestop said it that this game (borderlands 2) was a lot better considering I talked to someone that already played for a few hours on it. So I bought the game and what do you know, the game is just epic with A LOT of humor in it. love it.

every now and then you get an awesome metal riff playing which picks up the excitment. lol such a sweet game. I can see this game selling well over 7 million copies. O.O

This. Borderlands 2 is better in every way. The guns are better and way more interesting, the skill trees make more sense, the writing and humor is better, the enemies are better! So much is better and bigger. I love the badass leveling system, and I love that you buy your backpack SDUs! I will be playing this for a longggg time making my siren into a goddess again.

Tip! - Check all boxes, safes, barrels, skag piles etc, you never know where you will get one of those lovely purple eridium chunks. You can use them to buy upgrades to your personal inventory capacity, bank capacity and ammo reserve capacity.
