I enjoyed Gamescom! But really, this isn't a presser geared towards the west.

I'm just going to wait and see the games later this week.

The new ps3 model is actually pretty cool looking seeing it all complete, I feel.

I don't feel so bad upgrading if my 120gb slim dies. 500gb is pretty solid too.

I just hope the disk drive isn't loud... And the stand should really come with it...

I was hoping to buy one to bring to work, but it doesn't seem like the 12gb SKU will be available in NA... Time will tell but I believe SONY missed the boat on that one.

In the US, the 250GB model will be out on September 25, and will include Uncharted 3 and a $30 "digital content" voucher for DUST 514 (a free-to-play game). It'll cost $270.

There'll also be a 500GB bundle including Assassin's Creed III that'll go on sale in the US on October 30. No price on that one yet.

This HDD-less PS3 will be released on September 27 in Australia and October 12 in Europe. It'll be priced at €229 / AUD$300.

Hmm $300 Au is about $340 here.
Go on Sony throw something in with it (Uncharted 3 hint hint) and I'll buy it.

I wonder if the 12GB model has provisions for HDD installation. Yeah their will surely be more bundled announced towards xmas, for Vita too. Still, other than that badass US bundle for the 250GB, I'm disappointed in the pricing. For €300 we get an extra 180GB in the HDD. I guess retailers will sell it cheaper though. The main electronics store in Austria, Saturn, sell the wifi Vita for €200 and the 3G for €250.

The pricing and the inclusion of the 12gb tells me they are targeting the Wii U, but targeting the 360 would be a better idea, imo

I thought the slim was so ugly comparing to the original that making it uglier was not an easy task. I like the new PS3. Slimmer, slicker and cheaper. Specially if you have spare HDDs lying around.

Im the other way around! I actually prefer the old slim to this one. I like matte finishes I guess.

Vita is in a right mess. And I'm pretty pissed about it. Right now I feel I have a £200 PS1 emulator, that I had to wait 6 months for after buying.

The Vita does have some good games but too few. Far too few. And it's stuck in a rut, the Japense devs are not heavily supporting it which knocks the confidence of the western devs.

I remember when people laughed at the 3DS in its first few months of life. And rightly so as it was shockingly supported. But Nintendo had the courage of their convictions to say we got it wrong and here's how we are putting it right. A price cut and a shit ton of first party software. I guess buying Monster Hunter helped too.
