Hi folks,
I know this is a bit late since the game came out last week, but I couldn't seem to find any threads dedicated to Tekken Tag 2 reviews, which seems a bit odd since it is a 'big' release.
Anyway, I thought i'd kick things off with PSU.com's review for the game.
Full review here: http://www.psu.com/a016948/Tekken-Ta...-Review?page=1Given the abundance of beat-‘em-up titles that have punched their way into stores the past 18 months or so, you’d be forgiven for initially giving Tekken Tag Tournament 2 the cold shoulder. After all, with the likes of Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter x Tekken and Soul Calibur V competing for your hard-earned cash, a new game has to offer something unique and captivating in order to differentiate itself from its contemporaries. Fortunately, Tekken Tag 2 does just that, offering what is unequivocally the strongest console entry in the franchise for a good couple of years. Yes, it’s not particularly original, nor does it challenge any pre-conceived notions you may have of the franchise, but it works – and rather well, too.

I bought it. Haven't opened it yet. I despise everything about Tekken. The robotic play, the helpless juggles and just everything. However, I'll eventually open it to learn it since I love fighting games and need a prep for Tek vs SF Namco version.

"a new game has to offer something unique and captivating in order to differentiate itself from its contemporaries. Fortunately, Tekken Tag 2 does just that"
But then goes on to say, "yes, it’s not particularly original, nor does it challenge any pre-conceived notions"
So does it offer something unique or is not particularly original? you should be better than IGN and others!Last edited by Super_Lilith; 09-21-2012 at 22:01.

So they contradict themselves, big surprise. Okay it's not really original anymore(first one was) as for capitvating I think that's still there. I know that when it comes to having someone review something many think it's best that the reviewer have no knowledge of the genre they are reviewing(that whole think outside the box thing).Although I believe the game is is captivating(although not particularly unique or original (it is a sequel after all)) It's stilll a fun game that any fan of the fighting genre will like/hate/love then throw their controller at the tv screeming Bu&*SH*!.

There's nothing robotic about Tekken's play style, except for the robot characters. And juggling is in all fighters and has been for years, to which there's typically no escape from once you're getting juggled except for in SFA3.
