While only a Japanese release has been confirmed for the hotly-anticipated Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX, recent comments by a Disney executive could be pointing to a simultaneous Western release.

Speaking with Business Insider, Disney Interactive CFO Jay Rasulo mentioned two big releases coming from the ailing publisher in 2013. The first is Epic Mickey 2, but Rasulo remarked that Epic Mickey 2 would be followed mid-year by "another big title that hasn't been announced yet." As Business Insider notes, none of Disney's upcoming 2013 movie releases would appeal to a wide audience with video game adaptations. As such, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is a likely possibility, and the "mid-year" 2013 release window matches up exactly with the timeframe for the HD collection's release in Japan.

I doubt they woud put ReCoded and DDD... Coded just seems like filler and a waste while DDD is too 'new'. Then again they just just put DDD and maybe Coded as well just cinematics like Days is going to be on the first collection.

I'm currently playing through BBS again, just playing it on easy for the story refresher, and I'd happily play it again late next year . DDD I don't really mind coz I own it on 3DS but man, I REALLY want to re play KH 1 & 2 FM as well as RECom.. I didn't even get to play the first CoM Y_Y

If we see volume 1 AND 2 any later than Dec 31st 2013 I'll be sad and confused coz most of my attention will be on PS4 by then

Fair enough. I don't see why they would make BBS cutscnees only though, great game that would look nice in HD and its a very important title in the timeline

Yeah BbS will probably be included, I think DDD will as well (2.5 will probably be 2014/15, so by then it will be fairly old too). 1.5 has 2 PS2 games (KH1 and Re:CoM), whereas 2.5 only has one (KH2), so it won't be difficult at all to include 2 handheld games.

Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix at last week’s Tokyo Game Show. But will it arrive in North America and Europe?

“The recent KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5 ReMIX- announcement was only for the Japanese market,” a Square Enix rep told Gematsu.
If anything changes, we were told we’ll be informed.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix, which includes Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix andKingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories updated in high-definition, as well as high-def cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, is due for PlayStation 3 next year in Japan. If you missed the trailer, catch it here.
