Kingdom hearts hd 1.5 announced!! Update: 'Only for Japan'

The official teaser website of the long-awaited, much-rumored, often-desired Kingdom Hearts HD remake has gone live.

The text on the website is entirely in Japanese, but the message is clear. "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX" will include HD versions of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, and (according to one Twitter user) a version of Kingdom Hearts compatible with PC browsers.

With this selection of games, it appears that Square Enix will be re-releasing the Kingdom Hearts saga in relatively chronological order. 358/2 Days did not release until after Kingdom Hearts II, but - like Chain of Memories - tells a story that falls between Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. The absence of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, the earliest story in the series' chronology, is a monkey wrench in this theory, but you can sure that other Kingdom Hearts games will appear in another HD collection down the line.

For now, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is only confirmed for Japan, but pigs will fly before Square Enix passes up the opportunity to grace North America and Europe with the same.

Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix at last week’s Tokyo Game Show. But will it arrive in North America and Europe?

“The recent KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5 ReMIX- announcement was only for the Japanese market,” a Square Enix rep told Gematsu.
If anything changes, we were told we’ll be informed.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix, which includes Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix andKingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories updated in high-definition, as well as high-def cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, is due for PlayStation 3 next year in Japan. If you missed the trailer, catch it here.

it seems to be in chronological order on the KH timeline, but no KH2 or birth by sleep (which is the first game in the timeline so i dunno why its not there) but still, thats a good fucking deal with (edit, 2) games.... Sell me the others later!!!

This collection had BETTER be localised... or shit is gonna go downn.


Also I understand the name now (even if 1.5 HD is just for Japan) I'm guessing its named that way because you get kingdom hearts 1, and CoM and the Days cutscenes which are stories between KH1 and KH2... so 1.5

FM included Re:CoM anyway so it's a no brainer.

Anyway KH1 is my favourite so this is great but no point getting hyped since we'll be waiting years, look at FFXHD.

Anyway hopefully we get the Japanese VA as an option since it's only two PS2 titles, more than enough room for both audio tracks.

EDIT: Actually it probably won't since FM on PS2 was English only. Not too bad though since Disney characters sound better in English.

They're going to try and profit off the HD games but if it means that Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+ and Birth By Sleep Final Mix are included in the second wave then I don't mind.

I don't know. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's not really a collection if you're going to release it in waves. I would have simply included Kingdom Hearts Final Fix, the sequel, and Birth by Sleep.
