Would you like a section for game reviews by you forum members?

In an effort to diversify the site and expand it in interesting ways, we'd like your opinion on this idea.

I know that there are a few people on this site that like to write reviews (Mr Fon & Mr Lethal for example), and maybe there are some of you out there that have thought about it but never got around to it.

The PSU team is very interested in knowing if you guys would like a section that would be a focal point where you could write up your own reviews of games for our community. It would be organised and uniform and we would have a sticky thread that would act as a menu and link to all your threads so that over time the community would be able to contribute to and build up an archive of game reviews.

If this is something that you guys might like, if you'd like to contribute, have any ideas or suggestions or if you don't think it would be an asset to the site, please let us know.

Edit: Please let us know if you would be interested in contributing as well, no matter how irregularly. There's no point opening this up if no one will write stuff!

lol Good! No this isn't mandatory of course! This is where people who want to express their opinions on a game can do so and know that their work won't just get lost in a sea of day/week/month old threads several pages back via a contents thread. You don't even have to do current games. I plan on getting around to doing my own Prototype 2 review for example, and probably a Borderlands 2 thread at some point before long.

I'm down. I always like to see what others in the forums think about games. I think it is good to see what the average gamer thinks and not some critic. That is who that make they games for anyway, isn't it?

Would be good to have!. Everyone has a different perspective for each game, I would like to read their experiences and opinions!. I'll do my best to contribute but I suck at reviews, Lol.

Another cool thing to have is a sticky thread linking to every review posted on that sub-forum.

As far as I've seen with the podcast nothing new. I've suggested to the content team for more frequent podcast maybe shorter weekly ones. Hopefully soon we'll see a new one

It would be it's own subforum in the PSU forums. All reviews would be searchable via a sticky thread which I would keep updated with a list (and link) of all reviewed games in alphabetical order and divided by the platform.

yes, "professional" reviews have become non informative, as the reviewer is inluenced by the reference games and don't try to be objective, their opinion makes the review useless, they don't speak of the game mechanics enough, all is for the graphics. Something they never speak about also is if the game is accessible to non regular of the genre, like Borderlands 1 was and Borderlands 2 isn't.
Some simple rules, like "more than 2 lines and less than 500", not 200 photos ... of course

I'm not much for writing reviews myself, I'm just not that good a writer nor am I interested in committing my opinions to articles (I would rather share my opinions in a thread than write an actual review if that makes sense). However, as an avid gamer I love READING reviews, and I trust nobody's opinions more than my fellow gamer's. Thus, I would be overjoyed for such a section as a reader.
