How can I transfer data from PS3 to another?

Guys my PS3 orginal 60gb (upgraded to 320gb) sounds like its on its last legs. I'm tempted by the new 500gb model. With all the data I have it wont fit on to a memory stick. Is there a simple way to do do this?

I wont be able to download everything again as I share with my brother.

I don't know how many game data installs you have but whenever I've upgraded HDD's I've always deleted game data/installs prior to a back up.

Ok if you want to play the game again at a later date you'll have to do the install again but at least you can do the games in your own time rather than wait hrs while the PS3 backs them up, you only have to write them when you do the restore from back up so saves time deleting them and just backing up the actual stuff you need

I trimmed over 100Gb just deleting game installs before my recent hdd upgrade, half of the games I don't even own/play anymore

You transfer all of the data into an external hard drive if you have one. Dont know if there is another option. With Playstation + you can transfer all the important data via the servers.

In order to be able to exchange files with your ps3 you will have to format your hard drive to a playstation suppported format. Check for the formats in the internet.
