I think they have too. I think PS4 will be a stellar console. Not to say PS3 isnt because I think PS3 is an awesome console too. Sony just made some missteps combined with some bad luck. I think we'll see Sony come back with a vengeance with PS4.

What a load of bs. lol Theres no basis for that theory whatsoever. If that theory were true then the original Xbox would have outsold the PS2 in the US last gen simply because it was an American console. In reality thats just a sorry excuse that PS3 fans try to use to rationalise the fact that Sony got its ass handed to them this gen by both MS and Nintendo. They had plenty of time to pass the competition but failed to do so. All they can do now is learn from their mistakes and use those lessons to make the PS4 put them on top again. And that can easily happen if Sony plays their cards right this time.

No I don;t think that's the main reason either. I just have my own ideas for people "that don't know" (see the Jimmy Kimmel iPhone 5 trick as an example) that just by the American product over the other one.

Though, I don't think they're in any majority.

If I were Korean, I don't think even I would buy a Hyundai. A Toyota on the other hand - reliable and economical and not too flashy that it gets stolen or damaged.

Sony lost because they were confident. They really thought they could release a 599 console with no games and then come out a year late.

The funny thing is had either Nintendo or MS done that it probably wouldve finished them saleswise, Sony was pretty much the only one who couldve (and did) survive doing a $599 console and manage to still have it on the market 5 1/2 years later with 70 mil sold.

Agree, but it cost them a lot, both fiscally, and market position.
They have gone 1:1 in sales with MS since launch, outside of Japan. Thats not something sony ever would have envisanged last gen.

That's as stupid as saying the Japanese don't buy the Xbox 360 because it's American. Japanese do buy American products.

Exactly what I've been saying. Americans buy Japanese products also which is the point I'm making. Americans bought the PS2 (Japanese console) over the Xbox (American console) last gen which is why its so stupid to say that Americans are buying the 360 over PS3 simply because 360 is American and PS3 is Japanese. You obviously didnt read my post correctly. Read it again carefully this time. Reading comprehension is the key.

The PS brand is as strong as ever. Just the fact that Sony was able to cut the gap this generation and only be behind Microsoft by 3 million sales after all that has happened says a lot.

Everything will be back to normal next generation with the PS4.

Is anyone even looking forward to the PS4? I don't think i've read or heard anything about it. You go out in public and everyone is talking about the Xbox 720.

No doubt it has been entertaining. I'm not surprised because it was predicted years ago that they would reach this point. Kaz also hinted that there will be rough times ahead when he took over.

Thats true but this gen MS came up and Sony came down. We'll see what happens next gen. If Sony makes PS4 developer friendly and launch it at a competitive price then I think they have a good chance of being on top again. But those two things need to happen in order to avoid a repeat of this gen.

True, but I would rather have a soft cushion to land on than hitting the ground. By that i mean if the whole industry went under MS would still be O.k. I don't think sony would fare so well.
