Man, Onimusha 1 was my very first PS2 game back in the day (next to Tekken Tag Tournament) and I loved it to bits. Would love for this to turn out great!
I just hope Sparks Unlimited have got what it takes because Western developers usually suck at replicating the distinctiveness of Japanese games. Just look at the butchered Silent Hill series for example... We'll find out through Lost Planet 3 I guess.

The latest issue of PSM3 magazine has a wicked whisper regarding developers Spark Unlimited.
They are currently busy with Lost Planet 3 but according to PSM3 magazine the studio has been asked to ‘work on an adventure series reboot’.
The publication suggests this may be a new Onimusha game but have no evidence to back this up.
The series is Capcom’s 6th biggest franchise with over 7.9 million games sold to date, the last being Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams in 2006.
Of course PSM3 may be incorrect with their guess – alternate Capcom franchises that may be resurrected include Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Strider.

Interesting rumor nonetheless. I only played the first game, but it was pretty fun.

They need to bring a hd collection of these games first. I love these games and haven't played them in years. I hope they do it and as for this i'm happy and sad because i would love to see a new game but i'm scared that they will destroy what makes this game amazing.

A reboot, very interesting. Though seeing sparks unlimited as the developer makes me worry a bit since i am still on the fence about them on lost planet 3.

Please no, I don't need a American Samurai game
Though if the original team does it and keeps it true, I'm all for it

Why do companies outsource to these little known devs, or devs that just plain suck (Spark Unlimited made Legendary, need I say more
)
But i'd rather have a Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams sequel, myself. That one was was my favourite of the series.
