Cheating accusations

Baseless accusations give PC gaming a bad name.

1. A fellow clan member has recently left the clan due to him being sick of cheating accusations from not only random pub players but also and mostly from within the clan. Who are these twats? I dont know he hasn't said.

2. I saw a thread on the Nexuiz forums about a tournament with a purse titled "what do you think about the cheaters..."
The tournament organisers ignored their accusations ingame and later on in IRC to which this enraged the accuser into posting the thread on the forums. The Poster goes on to accuse a whole clan of lag switching and aim botting and even provides video proof which is questionable (although I have not seen the video it has been deleted) and alegedly just shows how bad the accuser and his clan are at the game.
The clan that beat them is well known in Unreal Torunament (Def threats) and won many torunaments in Unreal over the years.

thats not to say there are zero cheats but the number is far below what the accusers make it out to be, way below its just a case of crappy players being crappy thining they are amazingle awesome then get embarassed by a realy good team or player.

Another accusation but for Counter Strike.

This was a at a LAN tournament in Japan, JaPan vs Singapore.

Looks more like wallhacking to me. How does he know those guys are there? He's not random wallbanging, that's for sure, and since it's 1.6, the enemy doesn't appear on the radar even if his team can see them.

It's one thing to know the map well enough to wallbang like that. It's something else altogether if you can time it perfectly and only need to fire 1-2 shots precisely at someone's head through an entire array of walls.

Back in the Call of Duty: United Offensive days, I was a member of a squad that played on Clanbase. We were challenged by a clan called 'Group Intervention Elite' (or =GiE=) who proceeded to call us 'the sh*t of clanbase' via a MSN match arrangement conversation since we were only on page 3 of the overall tables. Quite far down at that point.

Needless to say, it fired us up and we pumped them on both maps (Berlin and Dawnville). They proceeded to put a claim in to the league administrators that we were cheating, which was debunked when demos were provided.

After that, we went on to be in the league's EU top 10. Playing a FPS competitively for 1,400 hours will do that.

I find the butthurt PM's I get hilarious. Dude has the audacity to call me a cheater just because he was lying down flat sniping/camping while I throw a knife at him. Apparently I stopped his "MOAB"

I used to play a game called HL2CTF (its a free source engine mod) and was in one of the top clans of which the leader was subjected to constant barrage of haccusations by a few regular players but nothing too major until one guy in particular supplied "evidence" in demo form which showed our leader travelling too fast too soon, in other words he thought its not possible to accelerate so fast so accused him of using speed hacks.


Once this filtered through the various clans It sparked much debate on the guys own clan forum with many players that could bunnyhop trying to inform him that he is wrong and that it is totally possible but he wasn't having any of it so banned anyone except his clan from reading the forums from then on. We were all being nice about it, he was being the dick.


Eventully the developers of the mod dissabled scripting completely becuse of that wanker posted bullshit claims on the official HL2CTF forums about scripts being "out there" that are able to make anyone bunnyhop faster without having to time anything or even use the mouse.
So the new improved script free version came out and guess what, the fast players were still just as fast.

The damage was done and the clan was deemed a cheater clan by him and most of his own clan members (because they were sheep) it destroyed morale and many people got fed up and quit playing becuase "of all the cheaters" until eventually there was just about half a dozen clans left.

Been called a hacker with wall hacks etc on black ops with the pc by a admin of the server.

The in game recording feature came in handy proving that our team actually had a UAV up and he'd sat in the same spot for 3 passes of the recon

It gets highly frustrating though when you're having a decent game and just got bombarded with hack cries etc

Yes demo features are great way to quash haccusations quickly yet more and more games released don't have them.
