Seems like the PS3 finally gets the whole trilogy as part of a trilogy collection coming in November 6th. Initial release will be for 360 & PC with a PS3 port to follow. Glad I held off on ME3, hopefully it will come with ALL DLC for all games.

wondered when they'd release it, guess now the trilogy over they had time to port the original & make a trilogy boxset
@Soldier 95B
EA owns the ip, the original not being release had nothing to MS publishing it, more about time resources
but this is a trilogy release on all platforms so the time & resources are there, question is what engine they using & will all versions feature the updated ones( ie will mass effect on PS3 run on ME3 engine or the original? and will ME2 be the PS3 version with the ME3 engine on 360?
I've got 2 should I get this?

Never got into this game...primarily due to the fact that I can't find it believable since it's not an open-world.
Think about it...planets, space...linear gameplay...???
At least Halo had huge maps and gave you some control over what or where you wanted to attack from.
ME is generally indoors and whatever is outdoors, feels confined.
A combination of storytelling from ME + Open-ness of Fallout would've been perfect.

Damn right! I'm not too fuzzed about it being released PSN only as a stand-alone title though.

If this has all the dlc then I will pick it up next year when it's cheaper lmao.
Prepare for meltdowns if these next gen console rumors are true. Phase 1: Denial. Phase 2: Mask a lie under "opinion" vs a fact. Phase 3: Bring up the PS3/360 era when it has nothing to do with the subject. Phase 4: Say that the power gap doesn't matter but constantly defend the weaker specs.

I'll get the trilogy on PS3 so I can get trophies for ME1 and also less discs since ME2 and ME3 are two discs on 360. I just hope the release date for the PS3 version isnt too much further off than the 360 one.

Wish it was a disc release, but I dont forsee me buying it unless its improved over the 360 release. (Which, since they still need to port it I'd be shocked if it still had the issues - the texture loading really took me out of it)

The future is open-world...and maybe a more linear, controlled open-world (for games that are more action-oriented) but for a game like this, it would make perfect sense to make it open-world, ESPECIALLY since it's an RPG.
The whole broken parts are not attractive. I want all games to have no loading, everything needs to be seamless. Though for games such as action/adventure, I can live through that if they give me the entertainment value and cinematic feel that generally comes better with controlled, linear environments.
Otherwise, I had a blast playing the ME2 demo...some parts were really well done as far as cinematics but that's not good enough for me. I want control and longevity.

First was the best in the series even though shooting mechanics were improved in 2&3.
Sadly sequels lost the plot and the feeling of exploration.'no, no one in their sane mind uses OpenGL on PS3' - Repi

Agreed. I usually attract criticism for saying that ME is a third person shooter with RPG elements, but it actually is true.
There were a total of like 8 skills in the game and every enemy/ally used the same skills.
ME2 had hundreds of planets and of those, literally 5% were the ones you could land on.
The places you DID get to go to were corridors and small rooms.
The 'role playing' aspect comes in with the player choice in story and nothing else
The animations is easily the worst of any AAA game this gen.
The load times are outrageous even with the digital versions.
The one thing that I will say in favour for this series is the great lore and universe it presented.Last edited by itachi73378; 09-26-2012 at 19:47.
