Do it. Sony are releasing all the biggest games in bundles now, so you will be able to get many games for the price of one. God of War, inFamous, Ratchet & Clank, Assassins Creed and more will offer you very cheap gaming. Also if you sign up to PS+ you will gain access to the instant games collection, which will give you 12 games to download right away for $50.

Depends on your gaming needs tbh?
Overtime I expect the ps3 to surpass the xbox360 in sales..
PS3 is a great console and blu ray player. Xbox360 also a great console that offers great online services.
Personally I prefer the PS3 over the 360 PS3 online is perfect for me and its free I most game online wirth sports titles works greatLast edited by DeviousOne; 09-26-2012 at 18:41.

One of the main reasons I would get PS3, is the ability of playing titles such as GT5 and Unchartered.
Thanks guys, I will try to exchange my sister's Wii for it, and see what happens!

I second the opinions here. The amount of entertaint you will get whether online or off is great for the price of the ps3 right now. Top notch games that'll keep you busy for years to come. If ya do pull the trigger, enjoy.

Pretty much how these threads go - providing we get the right "ingredients" (people).Person 1: "No of course not. PSN is crap and it has no games. PS3 having games is a myth. Just see this favourable chart that I 'randomly' picked out. *logical fallacy here* *red herring there*.
Person 2: "Of coruse they will. They've been in the business for some time now. They had a slow start and have mad esome mistakes but ultimately they'll be fine.
Person 1: They won't be fine <insert>*logical fallacy here* *red herring there* *tired rhetoric*</here>
Person 2: *Falls for flamebait*
Rinse, repeat.

I still am a PC gamer but I own all the consoles, and if you think you're any form of a gamer then you'll be doing yourself a favor by picking up a PS3 just because it has some MUST play titles.
CSS, CSGO, BF3 will last you longer but that doesn't mean you should miss out on MGS, UC, and GoW.PS3 80GB NTSCJ

Q: Should you get a PS3?
A: Yes, why did you not earlier?
Q: Could the PS3 stand #1 for the next couple of years against the Wii and 360?
A: I believe the answer is subjective, when you ask and mention "#1", do you mean as the industry leader as in most consoles and software sold or do you mean with the best titles and best experiences?
Here's is where the answer cannot be dictated to you and it will rely on you finding this out for yourself...
All I can say is that I, as in myself have had some great experiences with the PS3 this entire generation. On a personal level I've had the most enjoyment from the system choosing to buy only the PS3 exclusive titles not available elsewhere.
I do not think there's more that I can say than that, but your experiences and mine (thus far) may be very different, or they may be the very same.
I have no doubt the system could delight you and offer hours of enjoyment however.
Sometimes it's hard to believe he'd say that, even though it's there in black and white (and not edited).

Yeah sure, both PS3 & 360 are safe buys
As for it being #1
I can't see the one console being that far ahead of other now, but if one would have a sudden surge
It would probably be the PS3, and that would mostly be in the US where there is plenty of room for it
That'll push it to number 1, but I don't think that'll happen, a slight over take is possible though
But no one knows what people will do with their wallets tbh

I think the eventual sales overtake of PS3 is a safe bet given how they are positioning the console (not that this even means the tiniest shit anymore haha). Sony is doing a lot of nice bundles with their new system and throwing in a month of free PS+ so new owners get a taste of that 12 rotating game collection. Throw in all the bundled games (GoW, ME, Ass Creed, inFamous etc) and free online and I think it will have legs akin to its older bro, the PS2. Supporting and maintaining old systems is what Sony do best (PS2 games still coming out and FFXI on PS2 getting expansion in 2013 along with PC and 360 lol). It just needs another price cut when the PS4 comes out and it will fly as the cheaper entry point into HD. As usual though, Sony probably won't take full marketing advantage of all this lol. Well time will tell.

It does matter Ghost, no use bragging about going 7 rounds and being ahead in points with Mike Tyson if you get knocked out in the 8th is it?

It only matters to stockholders, executives and fanboys. As long as these consoles sell enough to get good developer support then thats all that should matter to us as gamers/consumers. Its interesting to talk about but its not like Sony or MS are writing checks to us if their console sells a little better than the competition. lol The "winner" is the console or consoles that gives you the most gaming enjoyment. At least thats how I see it.

Oh yeah, for us it makes no difference
I was mainly referring to the overall out look, its like the first to ten million saying, its not a realistic look on things
But for you and me, well I have over 80+ disc based games and 30+ dl games
So we don't care, we just want more game's

o.O Wow, I even went through the post history, what a shame lolz
as for PS3 being no. 1, I personally don't care either way. had much better experiences with PS2, PS1, and PC before this gen of consoles hit. there were some good games for these consoles but I never actually seen the gaming boom this entire gen, all it got was a FPS boom of CoD and that was it. kind of a stale gen of consoles imo.

didn't you find even the PC the last few years has been lacking though? I mean, like I said before there were some good games but the harder impact of the games I find to be very few compared to previous consoles and PC games. from the late 90's up to 2006 or 2007 the PC games started slowing down or at least the good PC games, the PS3 and Xbox360 games while some were good the systems were still just "okay" comapred to PS2, PS1, NES, Xbox, etc etc.
I just get this stale feeling with 360, PS3 & PC the last few years.
to be fair, no system should be competing this gen, they've both been pretty mediocre imo.
