Resident Evil 4 - The best RE and top 10 game of all time?

Resident Evil 6 has it's first review on metacritic, a 9 out of 10. Judging by what you've seen, does Resident Evil 6 have what it takes to dethrone Resident Evil 4 or 2?

As much as I love Re4 it still gets its ass kicked by the original. The game was great and countless the times I was scared as hell. But it's still in my top 10
Re6 looks fun and all but I don't think it'll dethrone 4,1 and 2.

It was a really great and fun game, but just not Resident Evil for me. I realize i might be in the minority here but I want some form of evolution of the prerendered backgrounds with hitchcock like camera angles, low ammo count, tank controls, low amount of zombies that are individually much more threatening and some proper puzzles and atmosphere.
There are ways to make tank controls work better.

As a fan since 1997, no, it wasn't the best Resident Evil title; it was however, a fantastic game in its own right.

IMO, the best game in the series was and still is the original 1996 Resident Evil. It's the quintessential survival horror experience, even more so than Resident Evil 2. 1, 2 and 3 are superb, however. REmake and Zero are fantastic too, although I prefer the original over the Remake since it's less linear and just has something about it.

Graphically the Remake was stunning but visuals don't make a game for me; they're just a bonus, though a lovely one at that. RE4 is definitely one of my favourite ever games though.

On a side note, I have Resident Evil 6 now so stay tuned for my review on PSU.com early next week

Re4 was an ok game to be, but was not something as memorable as the classic. Just like re5 and probably re6, I wont be reminiscing about those games in the future compared to the classics.

Resident Evil 4 was a great game but it doesn't beat Resident Evil 2 and the original for me. Those games hold a special place in my heart. The original RE was the first PS game i ever played and i was blown away while being scared all at the same time. What a night that was when i popped it in for the first time.

Not sure about it being the best RE, I loved REmake and was definitely more true to its survival horror roots.

However RE4 is an amazing game IMO and will always remain one of my favorites. I play through it at least once or twice a year.
