Its like this, some will abuse the dislike and like buttons.... they are both abused at certain points.
Its up to the members to be smart and use them right. But if you take it out, then the like button will be abused now that its the only option. Also rep was once the like and dislike option rolled into one, so why three options instead of one. It makes no sense or am I missing something here

Personally I wouldn't object to keeping the dislike button. If someone wants to go around and 'dislike' every single post of another member, well then that successfully makes the 'disliker' look like an idiot. If someone wants to make themselves look stupid have at it and have fun.

The core issue is member behaviour not the button itself. If you want to stop people being harassed, deal with the person doing the harassing - it doesn't matter what you turn off, somebody who wants to be abusive will go on doing so; just in a different way. I think we're focussing on the wrong 'problem' here.
On the button itself, I quite like it and would rather it stayed.

If its a member behavioral problem strictly then absolutely the mods will be more than happy to layeth the smackdown....but it is also the responsibility of the member that's being harassed to bring it to their attention.
Mods to a good job about staying on these things from what I have seen also most members on the forum are adult enough to resolve things between themselves for the most part especially with the back and fourth part. I've been guilty of it but always defer in those situations or agree to disagree

No need of bringing back that feature. Its not really that useful and if it get abused there is no reasonable fix for that.

Look, just drop both and use what we used before the rep options . That is the like and dislike option rolled into one as like before, so why add two when one is the same....

That really isn't at all relevant. If you're only comparing IE with itself- sure it has 'improved'. If you compare it to the ever advancing host of superior browsers (in particular Chrome, Firefox and Safari), which is the proper context, then not really.
It's slow, difficult to develop for (which impacts user experience for all), and a massive security risk.

Can we get a "stop being a damn crybaby" button? That button would get great use from me in this thread lol

Forums should be made compatible with the most popular browsers and that includes internet explorer no matter what anyone thinks of it.
